‘What in Earthias' name has happened?’ she asked, taking in the cuts and tears on Kai’s skin and the b****y teeth marks on Jidan’s ears and snout. But they were panting too much to reply.
‘Xanna, help me over here,’ Yusumi said as one of the girls slipped off Jidan’s back in exhaustion. Yusumi caught her before she hit the floor, and as Xanna picked up the other, they laid them both on the ground, fetching the spare clothing and blankets they had to wrap around them. ‘Are they injured?’
Xanna examined the girls closely, noting the shredded bits of fabric Kai had used as bandages for them. ‘They have a few scratches, but they are also in shock. The scratches I can heal with my Etherin, but I would not wish to interfere with their minds. We must find them a human healer for that.’
