‘We must leave, now!’ Jidan barked as flames from the disturbed fire pit chased along the grass and ignited the Heima's tents, sending acrid smoke rising into the air. Screams met with battle cries as both Heima and warrior alike caught alight and ran blindly at the other to be brutally cut down.
Yusumi and Xanna roused Kai and helped him up, then the three of them coughed their way behind the wolf-lion as he strode through the dense smoke. It made their lungs burn and filled their eyes with water, dulling their sense of direction.
'Princess, can you clear any of this?' Jidan called back to Yusumi.
