Chause's Curiousity
"Dad, where are we going to stay for the night?." - I asked.
It's almost sunset, and we didn't find any village nearby.
"Let's have a rest here for a while." - Dad.
We're here in the middle of the forest. I jump off the horse then have a little walk near the river.
"Don't go too far. - Dad said.
"Yes Dad." - I answered/
I get too close to the river, and sit on the side.
*sigh*
Why does dad wanted us to live in the kingdom?
I stare my reflection on the river's water when I saw a reflection about a guy jumping towards me with his sword.
I hurriedly stand up and look behind me when there's someone approach fighting the guy.
Who are they?
I look around trying to find my dad.
The one who suddenly approach stood in front of me facing the other guy.
"Run across the bridge."
It's a woman?
Then she move her sword aiming it on the guy. What's going on? I followed what the lady told me. I ran across the bridge. And tried to find my father.
'Dad, please be safe.'
The guy whom jump on me earlier wore a black robe with a black mask, then the woman who save me wore just like it but a white one.
If they're having a sword fight. Why here??
I run and run until I saw my Dad. He was encircled with the guys wearing a black cloak and black mask.
I wanted to go near to him but my legs shiver because of fear. What's happening?
Then the guys wearing cloak attack my father. When my father whisper some words and the long stick he was carrying turns into a golden sphere.
What am I seeing?
It's my first time seeing dad with those kind of powers.
He yielded his golden sphere then it releases an energy, and it's the reason why the guys suddenly froze. It was like the time has stop.
Woah. Amazing.
Then I heard someone running. It was the woman but she was been followed.
"Chause! Wear this!."-Shouted dad and throw me a white cloak. And I hurriedly wore it.
"LET'S GO!." - Dad.
Then I run towards him, then both of us run trying to get away.
My head is full of questions now.
Then the Lady run with us.
"Master Switz, we didn't know that you're still alive." - The Woman said.
Master Switz? My dad? Master??
They know each other?
"Let's talk about it later, first, let's find a way so that they can't follow us." - Dad.
Woah. Dad is really cool.
Dad suddenly jump on the branch of the trees. He remove his cloak then put it there. Then jump back to us.
"Let's go." - he said then we run away from there.

When we're sure that no one follows us anymore. We stop on a tree.
"Master Switz, I've known a small village near here. You can stay there for a while." - Woman.
"What about you?." - Dad asked.
"I'm going to find a track about the Dark People." - she replied.
Dark People?
"Take care, and please Mari, can you not tell anyone that you saw me?." - Dad.
Then the woman bowed and suddenly disappear.
"Dad---."
"I'll answer all o f that later." - he cutted in.
Dad really knows what I'm thinking.
I notice Ravis goes out of my bag. It was like he was catching his breath.
"Did you know what I was going through inside your backpack?." - he shouted while catching his breath. Then I just laugh.
"Come on, the sun almost set." - Dad said then lead the way. I just followed him on the back. Ravis then sit in my head.
"I'm tired." - he yawned.
"Pshhh, I'm shy though." - I smirked.

It's already dark when we arrived in the village.
"Ravis, can you get inside on Chause's backpack?." - Dad.
"Why Dad? No one can see him anyway." - I replied.
"Just do as I say." - Dad.
Then Ravis get in the smallest part of my backpack. Then we get inside in the inn. Then there's a lady welcomed my dad.
"Hello sir, welcome to our inn, how may I help you?." - she smiled.
"1 room with 2 beds please." - Dad said.
"Here is the key sir, in the 7th room upstairs." - the Lady smiled then my father took it. He goes upstairs then I followed him.
We were in the front of the room, dad opened it then we get inside. He locked it after we get in.
The room is okay, not that big, not also small. Just a simple room with 2 beds.
Then he wave his hand around the room and said.
"You can ask now." - Dad said.
"What did you do?." - I asked.
"I cast a small magic, so that no one can hear us here." - he replied.
"I don't really understand dad." - I said.
I really don't. I grow up knowing we're only humans, I don't know anything about magics.
"The one who hunted us earlier was called the Dark People." - Dad explained.
"Dark People?." - I asked.
They are the one's whom hunted humans, white people. White people are those good magicians." - Dad.
"Are you one of those White People?." - I asked.
"Yes?." - he replied.
"What about that Lady who help us earlier?." - I asked.
"She used to be my friend back on the old days." - Dad
"She's a White?." - I asked.
"Yeah." - Dad.
"Because you're my Dad, does it mean I can also do magic?." - I asked.
Then he sighed.
"You can do it but you don't have to." - Dad. While he kneel in front of me and hold my shoulder.
"What do you mean?." - I asked.
"Releasing or casting magic is not easy to control with, son." - he replied.
"I know, can't I practice? Can't you teach me?." - I asked.
He sighed.
"It's not that easy." - Dad replied.
*sigh*
"Okay." I frowned.
Then he took out the bread on his backpack, with rice cake. Ravis then approach in front of us. Then I handed him a small piece of bread, so that he can eat.
"Let's eat, so that we can travel again tomorrow." - Dad smiled while eating.
I smiled bitterly then eat.
Can't I just practice?
Why he won't let me?
Can't I be like him?
After we eat, dad took the remaining bread and rice cake. He put it back on his backpack.
"Son, I hope you will understand me. You're my son after all. Right?." - Dad.
Then I smiled.
I don't want to let you down, Dad. But curiousity kills. Arggghhh! After resting from eating. I decided to go to my bed and sleep.
