Chapter 1

“f**k you, Jack! f**k you!” I screamed. It felt as though my chest might burst at any moment. How could this happen to us? He was my first boyfriend, my first everything! I can't believe he left me like trash. We were supposed to get married next week! Next f*****g week! I took a sip from the bottle of beer in my hand. Jack had just texted me earlier. Yes, he ended our relationship in a f*****g text message! We had been together for eight f*****g years, and he ended it like that! My world felt shattered. Now, I am alone on the beach, drowning myself in alcohol. “I hate you, Jack!” I cried once more. “Whoever he is, he’s a fool.” I was stunned for a moment when I heard a deep voice behind me. I immediately turned around and saw a tall man with hair falling just above his shoulders approaching me. He also held a beer, like mine. He was wearing beach shorts that revealed his six-pack abs and a smattering of hair on his chest. I frowned at him. “Who are you, and what are you doing here?” He smirked. “I was invited here for a wedding.” He stopped once he was beside me. “A wedding? Is there another couple who rented this place?” I asked. As far as I knew, we were the only couple who had rented this place for our wedding. But I didn’t recognize him. “Yep. But I guess I'm a bit early.” “Ah, okay.” I took a sip from my bottle. Maybe he was invited by another couple. If Jake invited him, I would definitely know him. I'd met every family member he had and all his friends. I sat down on the sand again and gazed out at the ocean. “So, care to tell me what happened? Why are you cursing him? Who is he?” He sat down beside me. I sighed. “My boyfriend—fiancé, to be exact. But now he's just an ex.” “Oh, okay.” “He broke up with me. Can you believe it? We were getting married next week!” Tears welled up in my eyes again. “I don't even know what happened. He just broke up with me in a text message!” I exclaimed. I'm not usually talkative, but my emotions overwhelm me. Jack was my everything. “Did you ask him why?” “Of course. But he didn't reply anymore. I tried calling him, but he had already blocked me.” “Shame on him. He left an amazing woman like you.” I rolled my eyes. “You don't even know me, stranger.” I stood up. “I should go. My head is already spinning. Thank you for talking.” “Right now? Why don’t you stay for a while? You can cry on my shoulder if you want.” I stared at him. Why did I feel like he could see through me? It was true, I had no one now. I'd asked my friends and family to leave me alone after receiving Jack's text. I pushed them away because I didn’t want them to see me at my worst. Everyone expected us to get married in the end. “Come on. I know a place around here.” Before I could stop him, he pulled me up. I didn’t resist and allowed him to lead the way. We stopped at an open-area club. I was surprised because I didn't know such a place existed. Yes, we had rented a resort here, but there were other resorts on the island with tourists. For a while, I forgot about what had happened to me. I didn’t even know this man's name, but I was enjoying his company. He let me dance until I forgot everything. We drank like there was no tomorrow. “You're amazing! Why did I just meet you now?” I said, laughing. He was already guiding me back to my hotel room. “You just needed someone to talk to. And I hope you realize that you deserve better, okay?” “Yeah, I know! And I want to thank you for that!” I stopped walking and searched for my room number. “Here! This is my room!” “Whoa! Be careful!” He quickly grabbed my waist as I nearly stumbled. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face in his chest. I wasn't sure if it was the alcohol, but he smelled so good to me. “Where's your key card?” I moaned. “In my pocket.” “Where?” “On my ass.” “Huh?” I giggled at his confusion. I was wearing short shorts and a bikini top. My key card was in my back pocket, which he immediately retrieved once he understood. He was cute. He opened the door and carried me inside. I closed my eyes as I settled on the bed. It felt so good! “I should go now. Your key is here.” I tried to grab his hand and pull him onto the bed. “Don’t go,” I whispered. I couldn't see him, but I could feel him beside me. I didn’t know why, but this man gave me a different kind of feeling. He exhaled heavily. “I should go now, Lady. If you keep this up, I might not be able to control myself.” I smiled. “I don't want you to stop, Mister.” There was a moment of silence. I didn't care that I'd only met him today, or that I didn't even know his name. I needed this to truly forget everything. I didn’t want to be alone tonight because I knew I would end up crying again. “Are you sure?” “Yes.” “Don't you think you might regret this?” “I don't know you.” He sighed. “Okay. I've been wanting to kiss you since I saw you earlier. I won't hold back now.” “You're a stalker!” I giggled. “Kiss me.” “I’ll ravish you,” he whispered. A shiver ran down my spine as he began to kiss me. I let myself succumb to the lustful sensations rising within me. I needed this, yes. I had to do this.
