The Pull

1970 Words
Philip grunted when he was informed that the twin Alphas will see him the next day. It seems like the twins were preoccupied with their newborn pups and he perfectly understood. But as he waits in his room, there is something that seems to be pulling him to go out. And since the night was quite hot, Philip decided to have a quick run. He changed into his basketball shorts and went outside the pack house. And once he is by the grassy part of the land, he went behind a tree, took off his shorts, and tied it around his leg before he shifted into his wolf and run. Philip run to try and ignore the pull he was feeling. He just run around the clearing for hours, but when he decided to stop and rest, he was surprised that he is in front of the infirmary building. He was confused about how and why he ended up there. He looked around and the other pack wolves doesn’t seem to mind him at all. Philip shifted to his human form and wore the shorts that he tied around his leg. As if there was a voice calling to him, he made his way inside the infirmary. He marched inside ignoring anyone who would greet him. Philip looked around the area and sniffed the air. He can smell something sweet over the scent of blood and antiseptic. The sweet smell of caramel and strawberries made his mouth water. Such a scent is driving him insane that he didn’t have any strength to stop his wolf from taking over him. Philip’s wolf, Palnus used his nose to locate the source of such a scent. The scent led him to the stairs and he climbed the flights of stairs until he ended up on the VIP floor of the infirmary building. Palnus was like an uncontrollable force while he was in search of the source of the scent. And when he sniffed the air, somehow the scent he is smelling is leading him towards a certain room. Palnus dashed towards that room and when he was near enough, the door opened, and the scent grew stronger. Palnus marched his way towards it, but then, he paused as the twin alphas came out of the room. Lykos and Lynox, momentarily just had to leave their mate’s side, as well as their babies. They find their twins so adorable that they couldn’t seem to leave their side, but their mate, Roe is having a fit and she’s annoyed by their presence. The twins see it as some sort of maternal possessiveness. Like a bird who protects her chicks. And they are really scared of how she is at the moment. So, they plucked the courage of leaving them for a while after they tried to negotiate and received the wrath of a mama bird. The twins are about to leave when they smelled a familiar scent. When they looked at the end of the corridor, they saw the werewolf elder, Philip, only in basketball shorts. “Elder Philip?” “What are you doing here?” The twins asked and then the only response they got was a growl. When they noticed that Philip’s eyes were dark blue, they figured that his wolf was in control and they began to be on guard. “Palnus…” Lykos called for Elder Philip’s wolf. Instead of responding to his call, Philip’s wolf growls. “Look, what the hell is your problem?” Lynox asked as Elder Philip, Palnus, advanced. “Mate!” The twins’ eyes widened when they heard what the wolf said. They looked around, trying to see who the elder wolf is talking about. But then they noticed that he is looking in the direction of the room behind them, it dawned on them. “Oh, shit.” They said at the same time and then they stood in a defensive manner as the elder wolf started to charge at them. They braced themselves for the impact and for a minute, they were able to hold him but as the elder wolf growled loudly, he was able to push the twin alphas, sending them a few feet away. And now that they are out of his way, Philip and Palnus who moved as one made their way into the room. “Mate,” He lowly growled as he approaches the twins’ bassinet. He tried to reach into the bassinet but then, Philip was thrown across the room, crashing into the wall. “I just put them to sleep, don’t wake them up,” Roe stepped in front of the bassinet, her eyes were fiery orange and the aura of the phoenix was swirling around her. Then Philip got up at the same time the twins came in, with worry in their eyes. The twins were about to speak but Roe stopped them as she focuses on Palnus. “You can see my daughter when I say you can, maybe tomorrow or when I feel like it. For now, leave this place,” Roe spoke. “No, Love!” Lykos exclaimed and Palnus growled at him. Roe hissed and then she looked at Lykos. “Love, I know they are mates but we are talking about our newborn daughter here!” “Lykos is right. She’s a baby and he’s the crypt keeper!” Lynox spat. Roe sighed and shook her head. “All of you are giving me a headache,” Roe grumbled. Then Palnus who was still under the control of his wolf, growled at Roe and tried to approach the baby. Then Roe’s aura changed into a stronger one with whisks of flames coming off her body as she glared at Palnus. “I said leave!” she growled as her huge red wings appeared as well as her sharp talons. At that moment, Roe is ready to kill Palnus if he takes one more step closer to her children. The twins saw it and decided to move fast to prevent it from happening. They grabbed Palnus’ arms and dragged him out of the room. Once they are gone, Roe let out a sigh and turned around to look at her babies. Roe smiled when her baby boy was still sound asleep, but then she frowned when their baby girl opened her eyes, and just stared blankly on the ceiling. “Baby girl, you are too young to have a boyfriend.” Roe cooed, and then she called the Beta and Delta to keep her mates or anyone else from disturbing her and her babies. And when she thought it’ll be it, she also called someone else to control the situation outside. At the end of the corridor, the twins saw a huge window, they threw Philip into the window and let him fall into the grassy ground. The twins looked down at him before they jumped into the window, landing a few feet from Palnus. “Look, Elder Philip or Planus, whoever can hear. No hard feelings or anything but we are her father. And she is too young for you at the moment,” Lykos started as Palnus stood up. “Mate. My mate!” he growled. “Yeah, we get it. Unfortunately, you are our daughter’s mate.” Lynox said. “But she is just a few hours old you perv!” Lykos added and then Palnus growled before he attacked the twins. The twins sighed and meets Palnus’ attack. When they are near him, they duck at the same time, avoiding Palnus’ fist and then they went to punch his body at the same time. Their punch was strong enough to have Palnus fly across the field. The other pack members started to gather around when they saw their twin alphas fight the werewolf elder who looked like he was running amok. Actually, they are already used to their alphas fighting with the werewolf elder. But this time, they can feel something different with the way they fight. Palnus who got up immediately, dashed and went for an attack. He shifted into his wolf form in midair. And when the twins thought that the wolf was going to attack them, they had their fingers turned into claws. But then, when he was near the twins, Palnus jumped over them for the purpose of going back into the building. When the twins realized it, they cursed and then Lykos dropped to the ground, his palms on the dirt, and used his gift to make roots sprout from the ground, and wrap around Palnus. Lynox on the other hand races towards the werewolf elder as he struggled to get out of the roots wrapped around him. Lynox jumped into Palnus and tried to punch him in the muzzle but Palnus clamped his jaw around his wrist and shook him like a rug doll before throwing him aside. “Hey, we don’t want to hurt you, crypt keeper, but stay away from our daughter! Or else the mama bird will kill you!” Lykos hollered and then he threw a medium-sized boulder toward Palnus. The werewolf elder growled and jumped, making movements midair before he forcefully kicked the boulder back toward Lykos’ direction. Lykos’ eyes widened and then crosses his arms in front of him as the boulder approaches. But before it hit him, the boulder turned to sand. As Palnus resumed his way back to the infirmary, Lynox appeared out of nowhere, in his lycan form, and slammed his body against Palnus. As the two started to brawl, clawing and biting each other, Lykos huffed. “Yow, can you two stop that?” he hollered and his twin brother, mind linked his reply. ‘How can I when he is so hellbent on going to our daughter?!’ ‘Tsk. Stupid mate bond.’ Lykos replied. “Need help, Alphas?” Lykos turned around and saw their mate’s Sun Guardians, Vincent, and Caroline. Seeing them made Lykos sigh in relief. “Thank God you’re here. It seems like our daughter is mates with Elder Philip. And his wolf has taken over him and wanted to go to our baby. She’s just a few hours old, for goddess’ sake. And Roe doesn’t want anyone around them at the moment. She could kill that old man if he insisted on taking our newborn daughter.” Lykos explained the situation. “We got it. Our lady called us to get hold of the situation.” Caroline said and then she looked at Vincent who nodded at her. Then the two of them disappeared, and when they reappear, they were near the two squabbling furry creatures. In a snap of Caroline’s fingers, she was able to pull them apart and Vincent swiftly moved in front of Vincent. Then Vincent mumbled a few ancient Greek words before he grabs hold of the elder werewolf’s head. Vincent’s hand glowed like a ray of warm sunshine and then slowly, Philip fell asleep and shifted back to human. Lynox shifted back to human form as well and he let out a sigh of relief when he saw that Philip is asleep. Lykos approached them and asked. “What will happen now?” “He will sleep and wake up tomorrow. Hopefully, my energy was enough to calm his wolf don’t wildly take over again.” Vincent answered. The twins sighed and then they looked up to the window where they jumped out earlier. “We’ll guard the Luna and the babies,” Caroline told the twins. “But –“ “She wouldn’t want anyone else around them until she is sure they are safe and got passed the possessive stage, so, might as well keep yourselves busy with him.” She said, pointing at Elder Philip. “Great.”
