The room remains silent for a while. All the revelations seem to be weighing heavily on everyone. I’m not sure what Atlas is thinking when it comes to what I said, but here we all are. I just hope that Atlas and I can get on the same page and protect our mate.
Atlas stands abruptly and tosses his napkin on the table. “I have to go. Father is asking for me.” Atlas leans down and kisses Akia on her head. He looks at me, and his jaw moves as if he wants to say something. He closes his mouth and turns, walking out of the room.
With the exit of Atlas, some of the tension seeps out of the room. Akia is now staring into space, and I don’t like her being so withdrawn. “Love?” Akia blinks, but doesn’t turn her head. “Are you okay?” Akia lets out a slow sigh and drops her head.
