chapter 4: chaos begins

After two weeks of Conor getting the gem, Linda had been unable to sleep properly. She kept having dreams about Conor. How he would come with his drawings and wreck havoc in Greece then on the entire world. After she started having the Dreams, she became ill. She wouldn't let any one come close to her and she would refuse to eat unless Zera fed her. Eventually she began murmuring to herself.

Zera called all the healers he knew but there was nothing physically wrong with her. She just wouldn't eat and she was having trouble sleeping. The neighbors began to spread rumors about Linda, saying she was a mad woman who couldn't handle the affairs of Greece and as such must leave the council.

When Linda had been elected to join the council, a lot of people had been angry as she was the first woman to ever join the council in the history of Greece. They all thought that a woman was unfit to handle the affairs of Greece but Linda had proven them wrong with time. She was a graceful and wise woman who had helped Greece out of difficult times but still, some people were not satisfied. This was the opening that they needed to get her out of the council and to elect someone new.

Linda's dreams were starting to get worse and she knew what Conor was up to although she didn't know why he hadn't attacked but she knew it wouldn't be long now. She started to go out every morning to plead with the council to tell the people to evacuate the city as Conor was going to kill a lot of people but they ignored her saying she was sick and urgently needed treatment. Zera had to lock her inside the house to make sure she didn't get out to go back to the council.

When Linda saw that none of them believed her, she decided to run away and hide somewhere before Conor would appear with his army. Somehow, she managed to convince Zera to come with her to her to her mother's place in the outskirts of Greece saying she needed some space from being in the city. Luckily Zera believed her and packed enough things to last them for a few years.

That same evening, Conor managed to bring the last of his drawings to life. The gem which he used was a legendary green gem made by the God Apollo but had been lost for thousands of years. The witch who had given it to Conor had found it and had kept it hidden as she knew of it's great power but Conor had paid a huge sum of money for it so she gave it to him. The more power used from the gem, the weaker he got but his heart was hardened more than ever. After getting his army together they began to March to the city of Greece killing anyone who stood in their way whether it was a child or an animal.

The soliders of Greece keeping watch in the towers quickly started warning people who started to gather their children and things and began to run away. When Conor and his army got into the city, the rest of the people and all the council members were brought out and forced to kneel before Conor.

“Old fools, as you can see I was able to bring my drawings to life without your help. Well, you helped a little. I wouldn't have been able to get the money without you. Now I'm going to make this very short and straight to the point. Will you join me and make the world a better place or do you want to die a painful death? You have a few seconds to decide. I'm taking over the world and I'm not begging you for help anymore.”

“None of us will join you Conor. You're an evil man. Linda warned us that this was about to happen but we didn't believe her. Now we're going to pay for our stubbornness. The gods won't let you walk free from this Conor.”

“There’s one small problem old man. I'm a god now. Kill them all. Let the ones who will join me live. Bring one of the citizens inside. I want to ask a few questions.”

As Conor walked inside the council house the screams of the people filled his ears. When he finally sat down, one of the citizens was brought to him.

“What is your name young man?”

“Apollo.”

“Stop shivering Apollo I'm not going to kill you if you serve me well. What did the old man mean by Linda warned them about me?”

“When you were declared wanted, Linda suddenly fell ill and started saying that you were going to come back to kill us all. She tried to get the council to evacuate the city but they thought she was only saying those things because she was Ill....”

“Interesting. Linda... Where is she now?”

“She and Zera left this morning. She refused to let him tell anyone where they were going.”

“Very good Apollo. I'm putting you in charge of my army. You'll be my general. I want Linda in this land within a week and I want her alive. Kill Zera if he tries anything funny. We're going to take over the world Apollo. You're going to see me become a god.” Conor said as he looked out of the window watching his creations s*******r people and burn their houses to the ground.
