Ava's world was shrouded in darkness, her mind foggy. She tried to remember how she got there, but her memories were hazy. The last thing she recalled was seeing Elijah, the figure with eyes like embers.

As she slowly regained consciousness, Ava realized she was lying on a soft surface, likely a bed. She sat up, her head spinning, and looked around. She was in a dimly lit room, the walls made of rough-hewn wood. A single window let in a sliver of moonlight, casting an eerie glow.

Ava's senses were on high alert, her werewolf instincts screaming at her to be cautious. She sniffed the air, trying to pick up any scents. The room smelled of wood smoke, leather, and...Elijah.

"Ava, you're awake," a voice said from behind her.

Ava spun around, her heart racing. Elijah stood in the doorway, his eyes gleaming in the dim light. He looked unchanged, his chiseled features and piercing eyes still etched in her memory.

"Elijah," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

He smiled, and Ava felt a flutter in her chest. "It's been a long time," he said, his voice low and husky.

Ava's mind was a jumble of emotions. She didn't know whether to be angry, scared, or happy. "What are you doing here?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

Elijah's smile faltered, and for a moment, Ava saw a glimmer of sadness in his eyes. "I've been looking for you, Ava," he said, his voice filled with a deep longing. "We have a lot to talk about.
