When it was time for me to leave work, I packed my bags and walked to Jason’s office and just before I knocked, the door opened to reveal my boss with a tentative smile.
“I wanted to inform you that I would be leaving in a minute.” I tried not to peer over his shoulder at who sat in there. “In case you needed me for something.”
“Oh, it is okay. You can go.” He offered a small wave.
With a nod, I turned and went to get my bag.
I dialed my dad’s number while I stood in the elevator that would take me to the first floor.
“Hey pops.” I smiled as soon as he answered the call.
“Princess! How are you?”
“I am fineee. Wanted to hear your voice. It has been way too long.” I whined, waving at the receptionist as I walked out of the glass building.
