Chapter fifty Three: Protective

1607 Words

KAYDEN's POV I was feeling like utter s**t. It felt like I was drowning in a deep ocean, my eyes glued to the surface. I tried to swim my way back up, only to be pushed back down again by a strong force and sink deeper into the dark ocean. When I saw Valerie, my heart skipped a beat. It felt like time had slowed down, just for us as we stared at each other intently. I could not comprehend the kind of expression she had had on her face. It was hard to read. I could only hope that our meeting must have been fate bringing us together once again. But my hope was shattered immediately. I was foolish and thoughtless. I thought confessing my love for her again would rekindle her feelings and bring her back to me again. But I was woefully wrong. And then she said it, she called me a monster.
