Part III

Andrea crossed her arms together while waiting for the maids load her luggage inside the Gulfstream G150, the family's private jet. She then turned around, look at Melvin's face. Maybe for the last time before they took off then she remember their conversation back in her room a moment ago. "Why would I go instead of my father on his own? Is this some kind of a joke?" "No, Miss Andrea. Take it as your punishment for your behaviour lately. That's what your father said assuming that you would be asking why." Melvin replied calmly. Remember it makes her more furious. On the left side of the field, she saw a figure of a man walk with full of style and confidence. With his black suit, shades on and with his shiny ivy league hairstyle giving him the charismatic vibe. Andrea looks back at Melvin with a serious unbelievable written all over her face. "What is he doing here, Melvin?" She asked while pointing out her finger to some point. Melvin looked at where she pointed out and saw a guy was walking towards them. Melvin smiles when he's looking at Andrea. "Oh. You mean Xavier?" Andrea shrugged her shoulders. "Pardon, my mistakes. This old man forgot to tell our dear Misses. For Miss Andrea's information, you won't be going alone. Your father said it would be too dangerous, moreover the fact that you're a girl. So, Xavier was assigned for you and will be going with you. As he also can handle you down easily and you only listen to him. It's the Master's and Sir Joseph's decision." Andrea's jaws dropped and her eyes widened in disbelief. "Ugh! Is this for real?! In hundreds of our guys, why does it have to be him?!" "Because he's one of the best perhaps." Andrea rolled her eyes. In an annoyed way. "Can't Sir Joseph himself be my company?" Andrea asked harshly. "Well, he needs to take care of your father. He's the Master's private bodyguard." "Yeah, right." Andrea's about to burst into anger when the man that they mention is already standing straight beside them, smiling sweetly. She couldn't help but roll her eyes when she looked at him. She feels annoyed so much that it's hard for her to look him straight in the face. "Good morning, Little Miss," Xavier said in a deep, coarse voice as Andrea looked at him. "How can I assist you today?" He continued. Andrea gritted her teeth and tried to ignore the way Xavier's eyes looked at her from the top to the bottom of her feet. She had always been self-conscious about her curves, but now she felt like a walking target with Xavier's gaze on her constantly. She couldn't even stand even for another second being around him so she walked away while stomping. As she made her way to the jet, Andrea couldn't help but wonder how long she would have to put up with this bodyguard before she could go back to living her life the way she wanted to. She knew that her father meant well, but sometimes she felt like a bird that had been caged. Plus, with him by her side alone like this, her chance to be alone will be so slim. Xavier laughs at her behaviour. As he was about to walk away too, Melvin stopped him by the shoulder. Xavier turns around. "Take care of our Misses. Give your full attention to her only. They don't know yet where she will be going. Don't let her out of your sight. Understand that?" Melvin said with a serious face. "Yes, Sir Melvin. Don't worry. I'll take good care of her." He replied with confidence in his voice. Melvin patted on Xavier's shoulder and smiled. "Good to know that. We'll be counting on you now. Be careful and be back safely when the time comes." Xavier nods in understanding. *** While in the jet, Andrea tried to strike up a conversation with Xavier that had been sitting in front of her, but he remained stoic and unresponsive. She couldn't help but feel like he was trying to make a joke out of her by acting like that. It was suffocating, and Andrea couldn't wait for them to land so she could breathe again. *** As they landed on the ground, Xavier went to Andrea who had been sleeping like a princess since half hour ago with her eyes covered. He wakes her up gently by the shoulder. "Rise and shine, Little Missy. We're already here." Andrea opens her eye cover and sits up. She stretched her arms up and took a look outside. She saw that there's a black Chevrolet Suburban waiting for them outside. Andrea quickly looked at Xavier with a frustrated look in her eyes. "Really? Only one car outside?" "Yeah. Why? Disappointed that you're being picked up?" Andrea rolled her eyes, groaned angrily. She just woke up but there won't be any peace in her life at all. The annoyance is always stuck with her no matter where she goes. "Can't I just drive on my own. Is that even illegal?" He giggled then leaned down a little closer to her. "Well, the thing is. Your father has entrusted you to me so, yeah. You won't be driving on your own. Who knows where you will run off this time right?" After he's done talking, he stands back up straight and smiles sarcastically at her. Andrea groaned harshly and stood up, pushed Xavier away and walking out of the jet, went straight to the car as her foot set on the ground. Xavier laughs. After the luggage has been taken care of, the car starts to move. They arrive by the family's beach house that was built years ago since Andrea was 5 years old as their family's vacation house every time they visit here. Andrea wandered around the house as the housekeeper arranged her things out of the car. As she went up to the second floor where her room is and there's a pool on the back area of the building, she stared at the city across the ocean. She takes a deep breath and feels kind of relaxed. It's almost dusk and the sunset makes the view more beautiful. She smiled. It's been a long time since she felt these kinds of feelings. It makes her miss her mother more because this is where they spent their time a long time ago. As a complete family. She walked up to her bed and saw a picture of her mom by the bedside table. She took it and stared at it sadly. Oh mom. I wish that you're here right now. Where have you been all these years? Did you even know that it's been hard for me these times since you're gone? I missed you so much. I missed us like the old days. I want us back to how we are again. She held onto the photo tight to her chest and cried. Hard as she just let her feelings out. Her chest feels like being stabbed by a thousand knives inside. Her tears flow like the waterfall. She cries and lets her feelings out until she falls asleep. She really wishes that she could make a choice with whom she'll follow. To be continued...
