Chapter 19: The Sealed Gate
A hush fell over the city as dusk rolled in, bathing everything in crimson and gold. The shadows stretched long and sharp across the pavement, and the hum of magic in the air felt heavier than usual.
Yuuto stood before the great stone archway hidden deep beneath the library ruins—a place that wasn't supposed to exist. The app had led him here, flashing an urgent quest just after his battle with the Chimera in the underground garden.
[Major Quest Activated: Break the Sealed Gate] [Objective: Awaken the Dormant Seal using Celestial Keys (2/3 collected)]
The last key remained unaccounted for, and they were running out of time. Rei knelt beside a pile of shattered rubble, running her fingers along a stone slab etched with ancient runes.
"These symbols," she murmured, "They're celestial script. Definitely pre-Empire. I think they're warning us."
Lyra, arms folded, stood watch with her blade sheathed but glowing faintly in anticipation. "Warning or not, we need that gate open. Yuuto's aura is growing unstable. If we wait much longer..."
Yuuto didn’t hear her. His heart beat like a war drum. The feather in his satchel pulsed with heat, reacting to the arch. He pulled it out, and it ignited in his hand, glowing white-gold.
"It wants to merge," he said, stepping toward the gate.
Rei stood quickly. "Wait, Yuuto! That much celestial energy in one blast could kill you if you're not ready."
"I don’t think I have a choice."
He pressed the feather against the arch. Light exploded outward, tearing through the dust and time-worn stone. For a moment, nothing happened. Then the gate shimmered, a thousand locks turning in silence.
The arch cracked down the middle.

"Still missing one key," Lyra said, frustrated.
Yuuto fell to one knee, exhausted. His soul felt like it had been peeled open and stitched back. "There's a place," he gasped. "A temple. In the memory realm. I saw it in my dream last night."
Rei's eyes widened. "You accessed the Dreamway? That's a high-tier ability. Only those aligned with a celestial constellation can walk that path."
Yuuto nodded weakly. "I was standing beneath a starless sky. The temple was floating in the void. I think... I think the last key is there."
Lyra stepped forward. "Then we enter the Dreamway. Tonight."
---
The ritual was simple in theory, but taxing in execution. They set up camp in the ruins, forming a triangle with their bodies and placing celestial sigils between them. Lyra chanted the rite while Rei directed the flow of mana. Yuuto sat at the center, his hands glowing.
[Skill Activated: Dreamwalk Lv.1]
The world faded.
Yuuto opened his eyes to darkness. Not absence, but infinite depth. Stars hung in the sky like forgotten memories. Before him rose the temple from his dreams—a monolithic tower of white stone and silver fire.
Inside, the silence was total. Yuuto walked barefoot across the marbled floor, drawn to the altar at the center. A feather—radiant, crackling with restrained power—hovered above a crystal basin.
[Celestial Key Found: Astral Feather of Tiamis]
He reached out. The feather surged into his palm, blinding him.
A voice boomed within his mind.
"Bearer of three, chosen by ruin and dawn—do you understand the price of unlocking what lies beyond?"
"I do."
"Then receive this gift and burden. The gate will open, but so too will the eyes of the fallen."
Yuuto awoke gasping, the feather clutched in his hand. Steam rose from the sigils around them, and Rei collapsed beside him.
"You got it?" Lyra asked.
He held up the glowing feather. "Let's finish this."
---
Back at the gate, the three stood in unison. Yuuto raised the final feather, and the runes along the stone flared like wildfire. Light poured from the arch, and the seals shattered.
[Gate Status: All Seals Broken] [New Realm Unlocked: Celestial Grave]
The gate opened with a soundless roar. A stairway descended into darkness, lined with floating stones and drifting sparks of lost time.
Rei steadied herself, peering into the abyss. "The Grave... That’s where they buried the old gods."
Yuuto stepped forward.
"Then that’s where we go."
And together, they descended, unaware that something ancient had just turned its gaze toward them.
