One day, Lilei's mom announced that they would be visiting their hometown. The news filled Lilei with excitement, and Ava couldn't help but notice her friend's joyful expression.
Ava: Lilei, why do you look so excited?
Lilei: It's because we're gonna go visit my granny, grandpa, and other members of our family. So we're not gonna see each other for 3 days.
Ethan: Can we come too?
Lucas (whispering): Umm, we? Are you sure about this, Ethan?
Ethan: Kinda.. maybe her parents will approve me- I mean us..
Eyrone: Bro, just chill.
Benjamin: I think I know what you're thinking..
Ava: Yeah, me too.. Hahahah.
Ethan: Huh? What do you mean?
Lucas: Stop acting like you didn't know.
As they continued their conversation, Lilei returned with some news that would determine whether or not their friends could join the trip.
Ethan: So?
Lilei: My dad and mom agreed.
Ethan (quietly): Yes!
Lilei: But on one condition, you need to find your own transportation.
Ethan: Yeah yeah, I'm okay with that.
Elijah: You sure, bro?
Ethan: I have an idea.
Ethan approached Reynold, hoping to convince him to let them ride in his car.
Ethan: Reynold, please, let us ride in your car.
Reynold: Bro, are you coming? Really? It's kinda far..
Ethan: Please, you know.
Reynold: Why are you becoming that person who wants to travel? I thought you hate traveling?
Ethan: Not anymore.
Reynold: You're kinda suspicious, I think there's a reason..
Ethan: Just please let us ride.
Reynold: Fine.
On the day of the trip, they all gathered, ready to embark on their journey. They piled into Reynold's car, and Ethan strategically placed his bag beside him, hoping to save a seat for someone special.
Eyrone: Bro, can you put your bag at the back of the car? We're squeezed in here. Can't you see?
Ethan didn't listen to his brother's advice, determined to keep the seat next to him unoccupied.
Lilei came over to check on them before they set off.
Ethan: Lilei, come now, we're gonna go now.
Lilei: Huh? I'm not riding in there, I'm riding in my parents' car.
Ethan: Then can I move there? It's so uncomfortable in here.
Elijah: Shut up, man. Can't you see us? We're the ones who aren't comfortable because of your huge bag.
Lilei: Sorry, but my parents' car is already full. I'm with Lily, Ava, Roxy, and Rozy.
Ethan felt a pang of embarrassment as he listened to Lilei's response. The realization that he had been hoping for something that wouldn't happen made him feel foolish.
Lucas couldn't resist teasing Ethan.
Lucas: Oh no, he got rejected.
Ethan: Shut up, Lucas. I wasn't rejected, it was just a coincidence.
As they arrived at their destination, Ethan suddenly felt sick and ended up vomiting.
Reynold: I thought you liked traveling.
Ethan: I like traveling, but I'm not used to it.
After Ethan got better, he quietly searched for Lilei, wanting to see where she was.
Ethan (whispering to himself): Where is she now?
As he wandered around, he accidentally bumped into Lilei in her room.
Lilei: Hey, what are you doing here in my room?
Ethan (nervously): Umm.. uh, I just got lost. I thought this was the bathroom.
Lilei: Isn't it obvious that this is my room before opening the door? There's a sticker on my wall that says "It's Lilei's room," and our house isn't that big.
Ethan: Oh, it's because I have a headache. Heheh.
Lilei: Okay? Can you please get out of my room because I'm kinda busy unpacking my stuff.
Ethan: Okay, okay.
Benjamin noticed Ethan's sudden disappearance and approached him with curiosity.
Benjamin: Bro, where were you? You just disappeared.
Ethan: Just nothing.
Early one morning, Ethan saw Lilei's father busy with harvesting their fruits and vegetables.
Ethan: Um, dad- I mean, sir, do you need some help?
Lilei's Dad: Sure, but are you sure you want to help? You might get dirty. It's muddy in here.
Ethan: Sure. (In his mind) Sure, anything for my girl. I mean, soon to be my girl.
Lilei noticed Ethan's behavior, how he always sought attention by being a gentleman to her and her parents, but not to his own friends. It started to bother her, making her question his intentions.
One day, Ethan volunteered to help Lilei's father plant vegetables.
Lilei's Dad: Hey kid, you can start planting over there.
Ethan: Um, how about here?
Lilei's Dad: Um, that's not a part for planting.
Ethan: I think it's also nice to plant here, so you can have more vegetables, like expand it.
Unbeknownst to Lilei, Ethan chose that location because it was in front of her room. He desperately wanted to plant there so he could watch her from afar.
Lilei couldn't help but notice Ethan's glances in her direction through her window, and it sparked curiosity within her.
Lilei (to herself): Why is he always looking at me?
Ava gathered the group, wanting to discuss something that had caught their attention.
Ava: Guys, can we gather?
Lucas: What?
Ava: Haven't you seen Ethan always finding a way to just get closer to Lilei's family and even convinced Lilei's Dad to let him plant in front of her window, just to see her?
Elijah: I don't know, but did Lilei notice it?
Lily: I don't know about that. Lilei is very innocent, she might not realize it.
Benjamin: Yeah, that's what I thought also.
As they pondered the situation, they couldn't help but wonder what would happen next and if Lilei would eventually catch on to Ethan's actions.
