Phobe’s pov The inspection was thorough and meticulous, with the team from the food safety department scrutinizing every aspect of my bakery. They checked my ingredient storage, my baking procedures, and even took samples of my pastries for further analysis. As they worked, I couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration. I knew that my bakery was clean and safe, and I couldn't understand why someone would make a complaint. I tried to stay calm and cooperative, answering their questions and providing them with any information they needed. After what felt like hours, the inspection finally came to an end. The lead inspector thanked me for my cooperation and told me that they would be in touch soon with the results of their investigation. As they left, I let out a sigh of relief. I was confident that my bakery would pass the inspection with flying colors, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Who would make a complaint like this, and why? I decided to do some investigating of my own, starting with reviewing my customer feedback and talking to my staff. Maybe someone had mentioned something that could give me a clue about who was behind the complaint. As I sat down at my desk to start my investigation, I noticed a piece of paper on my kitchen counter that I hadn't seen before. It was a note, scribbled in hasty handwriting: "You're being watched." My heart skipped a beat as I stared at the note. Who could have written this, and what did they mean? Was it related to the complaint, or was something more sinister going on? I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized that I might be in more trouble than I thought. I decided to keep the note to myself for now and focus on finding out who was behind the complaint. But the words "You're being watched" kept echoing in my mind, making me feel like I was being stalked. I took a deep breath and tried to focus on the task at hand. I would get to the bottom of this, no matter what it took. My bakery's reputation was on the line, and I was determined to protect it. I picked up my phone and dialed my parents' number, feeling a mix of emotions as I waited for them to answer. When my mom picked up, I could hear the warmth in her voice. "Hey, sweetie! How's business been?" I took a deep breath and launched into the story of the inspection and the mysterious note. My mom listened attentively, her tone growing more serious with each passing moment. When I finished, she let out a concerned sigh. "Oh, honey, that's terrible. We'll come down to the bakery and help you figure out what's going on. Your dad and I will talk to some people, see if we can find out who might be behind this." I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. My parents had always been supportive, and I knew I could count on them to help me navigate this crisis. "Thanks, Mom. I really appreciate it. But I don't want to trouble you and Dad. I'll try to handle it on my own first." My mom's voice was firm. "Nonsense, we're your parents. It's our job to help you. We'll be there soon. Just stay safe, okay?" I nodded, even though she couldn't see me. "Okay, Mom. Thanks. Love you." "We love you too, sweetie. We'll see you soon." As I hung up the phone, I felt a sense of gratitude towards my parents. They had always been my rock, and I knew I could count on them to help me through tough times. Now, all I had to do was wait for them to arrive and see what we could uncover about the mysterious complaint and the ominous note. As I waited for my parents to arrive, I busied myself by tidying up the bakery and trying to calm my nerves. Before long, I heard a knock at the door, and I smiled as I saw my parents standing outside. My mom gave me a warm hug, and my dad patted me on the back reassuringly. "Hey, kiddo," he said. "We're here to help. What's been going on?" I filled them in on the details of the inspection and the mysterious note, and they listened attentively. My mom's expression grew more concerned as I spoke, while my dad's face set in a determined line. Just as we were discussing what to do next, the doorbell above the entrance to the bakery jingled, signaling the arrival of another customer. But it was only Lilly, my best friend, bursting into the bakery with a look of concern on her face. "Hey, girl! I heard about the inspection and I had to come check on you," she said, giving me a hug. "What's going on?" I filled Lilly in on the story, and she listened with wide eyes. When I finished, she let out a sympathetic cluck. "That's crazy," she said. "We'll get to the bottom of this, don't worry." My parents smiled at Lilly, and my mom nodded in agreement. "We're going to investigate and find out who's behind this," she said. "We'll get your bakery cleared of any wrongdoing." Lilly nodded vigorously. "I'm happy to help in any way I can. I turned to my workers, "I think we're good for today, guys," I said with a smile. "Why don't you all go home and enjoy the rest of your day? We'll pick up again tomorrow." My workers nodded in agreement, gathered their belongings, and bid us a good day. As they filed out of the bakery, I turned to my parents and Lilly. "Would you guys like some coffee? I could use a cup myself." My mom and dad exchanged a look, and my mom nodded. "That sounds lovely, dear. Thank you." Lilly grinned. "Coffee sounds amazing right about now." I smiled and headed to the counter to brew a fresh pot of coffee. As I worked, my parents and Lilly chatted quietly in the background, discussing possible scenarios and theories about the complaint. I listened in, my mind racing with possibilities. Once the coffee was ready, I poured four cups and brought them over to the table. We sat down together, sipping our coffee and discussing our plan of action. The warmth and camaraderie of the moment were a welcome respite from the stress of the day. As we sipped our coffee, my mom turned to me with a thoughtful expression. "You know, we should review the security footage and see if it shows anyone suspicious around the bakery." I nodded, feeling a surge of determination. "That's a great idea, Mom. I'll get the footage and we can review it together." Lilly leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with interest. "I'll help you review it, too. We can fast-forward through the parts that aren't relevant and focus on the times around when the complaint was filed." My dad pulled out his phone and started typing away. "I'll see if I can dig up any information on the food safety department's procedures," he said. "Maybe there's something we can use to our advantage." Lilly nodded enthusiastically. "And I'll start asking around, see if anyone's heard anything about the complaint. Maybe there's some gossip or rumors that can give us a lead." My mom smiled at me. "We'll get through this, sweetie. We'll figure out who's behind this and clear your name." I smiled back at her, feeling a sense of determination. "Thanks, Mom. I know I can count on you all." As we finished our coffee, I glanced at the clock on the wall. "I think I'll go review that security footage now," I said, standing up. "Let's see if we can find any clues."
