COREY I paced from one end of my room, annoyed at how fast Stella had moved on from me. What the f**k? She'd been seeing Tristan Dane for the past six months? Longer than I even did? How had I not known? I should have noticed when she was so interested in watching ice hockey with me. Such a b***h. "Wow," I scoffed. "She was able to snag the national hockey star? I can't believe it. She's probably lying." Tatiana rolled her eyes from where she sat. "Oh, c'mon. Quit whining over that." "Why?" I laughed painfully. "She's been seeing him behind my back, even before I met you! Does that make any sense? She cheated on me." "And you cheated on her too!" Tatiana snapped, annoyed. "So that balances the f**k out. I hate hearing you talk about her like you're still in love with her." I turned to her and made my way over to where she was seated by the window, watching people seated outside and having coffee. "I am really sorry, my love. I did not mean to make you angry. It's just...that doesn't matter." She nodded, still looking out of the window. Wondering what interested her so much, I also looked outside, only to find her staring at Tristan f*****g Dane and Stella having coffee. "What the f**k? Why are they everywhere?" I rose to my feet, once again angry. "I hate the sight of them both," She rolled her eyes. "I hate that b***h. She irks me. Tristan should have been with-" She stopped. And I did too. "What are you talking about? And why do you even hate her? She did nothing to you. Who should have Tristan been with?" "Never mind," She rose to her feet. "I want to take a bath. There's a small party outside tonight. I need to look my best." I grabbed her arm before she could walk away. "Mind telling me what you mean?" She glared at me and yanked her hand away. "You're not my boyfriend. Stop being f*****g annoying." I watched her walk away, already agitated. As soon as she closed the door to the bathroom, I flopped into the seat she had taken and looked out of the window. A waitress was fangirling over Tristan and Stella looked so relaxed. Wasn't she the one who hated the spotlight? How was she suddenly so comfortable? My chest squeezed with a tight pain. The idea that she was pretending to be busy the whole time while hanging out with Dane made me alive with rage. I believed she was so dedicated to her work and didn't want to stop working because she loved her job. Meanwhile, she was catching dates with the Ice Hockey star. She took pictures of them and once the waitress left, they went back to talking. They looked so intimate leaning towards each other. My fists clenched and unclenched. She had a lot of questions to answer and by God, I wasn't going to let her go until she did. I looked around the room. She was yet to take all her things and I wondered why she was taking time. Maybe she didn't need it again. Maybe he had gotten new things for her. She probably accepted it without an argument. With me, she always wanted to take care of herself. It annoyed the hell out of me because it made it hard for me to bend her the way I wanted. Later in the evening, while Tatiana and I were getting ready for the party holding outside, a knock sounded on the door. "Who could that be?" Tatiana, who had been in a mood for the whole of today asked. "Probably room service," I shrugged, making my way over to the door as I did my tie. "I ordered a glass of wine moments ago." "Whatever." She rolled her eyes. But when I pulled the door open, standing there and staring at me was none other than Stella. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "Shouldn't you be with your boyfriend?" She was unfazed by my statement. Usually, she would have wanted to explain herself, but she did none of that. "In case you have forgotten, I was the one who paid for this trip to surprise you. But that's by the way. I don't need it. Not anymore, at least. I am here to take my things." "I thought you wouldn't come for them," I replied. "I also got most of what's in here for you" She cackled. "Are you sure? Because I bought everything I came with. I rarely wear the dresses you buy for me because you've got such a terrible and sexist taste. Now, out of the way before I gave you a report to the ship's admin. That way, you'll be kicked out and probably have to move into the basement with your new girlfriend." "What the f**k is this b***h doing here?" Tatiana asked, coming to stand behind me. She glared at Stella. "You shouldn't be here. You're no longer with him, remember?" "Well, I paid for this suit," She shrugged casually. "I could have you both kicked out from here. So move out of the f*****g way and let me get my things." She pushed past us, looking around the room and scoffing as she glanced at an annoyed Tatiana. "It sure didn't take so much time for you to perch here, huh? You've got all your things around here. Hopefully, you didn't rummage through my luggage in order to replace your cheap dresses." "Stella!" I snapped. "Don't talk to her like that." "Or what?" She replied. She had a tongue on her and this was my first time experiencing it. "What are you going to do, Corey? Slap a f*****g wad of cash on my face because that's the only thing you can do?" He took a deep gulp and stepped back. "Stop it, Stella. Take your things and leave." "Don't tell me when to leave," She grinned wickedly. "I paid for this room. I'll leave in my own time and if you both are so uncomfortable, why don't you leave instead?" I grabbed Tatiana from advancing at Stella who took her time making sure none of her things were missing. Apparently, Tatiana stole some of her dresses, makeup and skincare. Stella made it a point of duty to slap it in her face and once she left, I turned to her. "You shouldn't have touched her stuff," I sighed. "Just tell me what you want and I'll get it. There are several luxury stores on the cruise." "Not the brand I use," She shrugged casually. "Your ex-girlfriend seems to have a good taste in everything." "Quit talking about her, will you?" She raised her hand in surrender and nodded. "Fine, whatever. Let's get the hell out of here. There's a party to attend." "I'm coming behind you." I said as she left the suite. As soon as she did, I sank into my seat and sighed. I was nervous. For the first time, I felt threatened by another man's presence. And it was such a terrible coincidence that this man was one of my favourite Ice hockey players, Tristan Dane. I felt small. I felt insecure. People were starting to talk about the drama that unfolded yesterday and I wasn't sure I could stand another night of watching my ex-girlfriend get all mushy with him. "Corey!" Tatiana called from behind the door. "There's a f*****g party to attend, c'mon!”
