STELLA I wasn't really in the mood to do anything this morning. All I wanted to do was curl up in bed and do nothing. I could miss work today. Hell, I was the CEO, but I'd never done that regardless of how much wreckage was going on in my life. My business was everything to me. I had given it my all, and it had never disappointed me... like Corey. The night had stretched on, endless and suffocating, leaving me curled up in bed, staring at the ceiling. Sleep had been a distant, cruel thing, teasing me but never fully taking me in. I had waited. God, I had waited. Tristan had said he was coming. He’d told me to stay put, told me he was on his way. I had clung to those words like a lifeline, believing—hoping—that for once, someone would show up when I needed them most. But he never came.
