8. Headmaster and the punishment

1766 Words
Eagle and I sat in front of the Headmaster's office not speaking to each other while Coach was inside explaining the situation. After what felt like an eternity, the door opened and we were invited in. The tall white-haired man from yesterday sent us a stiff smile and pointed to two chairs, letting us know we should sit down. It was awkward because even though we took our places no one spoke a word, just like they were waiting for something. Another five minutes later and we heard a knock on the door. "Come in." - said the Headmaster The doors opened and, to my surprise, Vinny and Falco entered the room. "Aa Gentleman, I'm glad you could join us. It seems that we have a situation here with your sisters." - Falco and Vincent gave me and Eagle death glares and we both turned our heads from them. If I wasn't in this position I would probably laugh at circumstances. " From what I heard, Alpha Springer mocked Alpha Cargarough and her friend, then Alpha Cargarough disrespected Alpha Springer by calling her a 'pathetic bimbo', and finally Alpha Springer attacked Alpha Cargarough." - Headmaster explained and once again his stoic way was hilarious -" Gentleman you know that punishment for starting a fight is expulsion. However, having in mind that it's their first week at Woodland Academy and the fact that both of you are close friends, I'd like to leave the punishment of your sisters in your hands. Make sure though that this lesson will be well remembered." I smirked under my nose, knowing that nothing that Vince might think of would be too much for me. " Of course, Headmaster, and thank you, we will take care of our sisters." - said Falco glaring at both of us. " Come on girls." - said Vincent and motioned his head towards the door. The four of us exited the office and I recognized my surroundings as the corridors leading again to the training grounds. " Are we going to the training grounds again?" - I asked the guys. " Shut it Cargarough and walk." - said Falco and to my suprise Vince didn't scold him for being rude to me. We walked in silence and in fact we got to the training field again. "So what, we are going to settle this once and for all?" - I asked again. "Does your sister ever shut up?" - Falco asked my brother. "No, not really." - answered Vince crossing his arms on his chest. And there they stood, two future Alphas watching us in silence. They were so different yet there was something similar in them. My brother was shorter but had broader shoulders, Falco was really tall, probably around 6.8 ft, but leaner with perfectly sculpted muscles. Vince's blond hair and brown eyes most of the time gave him a warm, inviting facial expression but now he looked pissed and cold-hearted like Falco who's dark brown hair and icy blue eyes could easily scare the crap out of you. "Do you have any idea what could have happened?" - Falco asked "I could have taught your sister a lesson?" - I answered with a sly smirk but I admit it was foolish of me because as soon as I stopped talking I received a roundhouse kick which sent me to my ass. I got up and saw that it was Vince who kicked me. "What the f**k Vinny?!" "It's not a joke, you dumbass you could have been expelled. And what chances would you get then of finding your Mate and continuing our bloodline?" "Oh please, two of you will continue the bloodline and stop being so overdramatic ." "I haven't found mine Mate yet and We can't be sure if I ever will. Do you want to leave our Pack's legacy to Victor? That kid would burn it to the ground. Could you for once in your life think about anything further ahead than your own nose?" Well, to be totally honest, Victor - our youngest brother was indeed spoiled and immature. Thanks for that Mom. But implying that I'm self centered was a bit harsh, so I just crossed my arms and made an annoyed face. " And you Eagle? How many times do I have to tell you that as Alpha you should treat all wolves with respect? They should be able to rely on you and you on them. How many of them would stand by your side now, huh?" - Falco asked. "I have friends." - Eagle said defensively. "Who? That untrustworthy b***h Anika?" - Falco mocked. Eagle wanted to say something else but seeing her brother's expression she just shut her mouth and looked down. " OK, here what's going to happen: You will run till you wouldn't be able to stand, and then you'll run a bit more, and believe me, at the end you both will remember this day and hopefully stop with your childish behaviour." - Falco announced. Running, really? Easy-peasy. We started running and it was more like a reward than punishment because I really loved running. I wish I had my AirPods with me then my day would be complete. I looked at our brothers and they were not pleased. But what did they expect? That we would use all our energy during the first hour, please. I smirked at them and kept my pace. Falco seeing my smile got pissed. I saw him taking off his shirt and then shorts and in the blink of an eye in the place where Falco was now stood a massive black wolf. Wolf locked eyes with me and snarled at me. I saw that beast was charging at me, so I instinctively started running faster. But wait, what for? It's Falco after all. We may not be friends, but he won't harm me, right? Wrong! That damn moron nibbled me on the calf as soon as he reached me. "God damn it! Stop it Falco!" - I yelled, but in response received another bite on my other leg. I heard Eagle laughing and when I looked her way it was obvious that she was enjoying my misery. But what she didn't know was that behind her Vince's chocolate brown wolf was catching up to her. "AAHH! Vincent don't!" - she screamed and fastened her tempo. Another thirty minutes we spent on being bitten whenever we got a bit slower and our tormentors were unsatisfied. I felt a burning sensation in my muscles and I knew that I had a maximum of one hour running like this without changing. CHANGING! Why haven't I thought of that before? 'Don't even think about that. Falco will attack you as soon as you phase.' - I heard Vince's voice in my head. 'Oh, and Eagle had the same idea 15 minutes ago.' - he added with a mocking tone. What should we do then? I looked around and saw only a training ground without any equipment which could be used for a weapon and a forest. FOREST! That's it! I caught up with Eagle tempo and she sent me a warning glare. "How much energy do you have left?" - I asked her. "Not much." - she admitted. "Follow me." - I told her and she nodded. I made a sudden turn towards the trees. As soon as I was close to the branches, I jumped and climbed up making sure I'm high enough that two insane wolves wouldn't reach me. Eagle followed my lead but the branch slipped out of her hand and she was about to fall, when I caught her and pulled her up. "Thanks." - she muttered. I responded with half a smile. I didn't see Falco and Vinny anywhere but I heard a clapping sound and soon both our brothers came into my sight range. "Well done Veronica, you figured it out in less than two hours. It took us about three and a half, right Vince?" - said Falco with something that looked like a smile but was still strange on his always dead-serious face. "Mmhmm" - agreed Vinny "You can come down from the tree." - Falco said. Eagle and I jumped down and went to them unsure what exactly was going on. "Look, we got it. It's not easy with Alpha genes and all to remain calm. We don't mean that you have to become friends but you need to be civil with each other, for the greater good. Our Packs had been on good terms for decades now and Falco and I intend to keep it that way. Now tell me why you jump on each other's throats all the time?" - Vince said I looked at my brother, then at the Springer siblings and said: "They both were jerks to our pack members when they visited a few years back." - I said crossing my arms. Falco raised his eyebrows surprised, and turned his eyes to his sister and asked: "Eagle, what about you?" Eagle looked like a mad kid, it was hilarious. "She thinks she's better than me." - she said simply. "What?! That's bullshit! I don't think I'm better, but you do! It's you who always finds the way to harass others especially when they are weaker." "So, basically Eagle you feel jealousy over Nica and Nica you don't like Eagle's attitude. Is that correct?" - Vince summed up "Yeah" - we both said in unison "It's easier than in our case." - said Falco. I looked at him, not fully understanding what he meant by that. As if she read my mind Eagle asked: "What do you mean? Weren't you friends from the beginning?" "No, we were not. We actually hated each other's guts at the beginning of the previous year. And this small running exercise we just did was performed by our fathers who were summoned to Academy, and man, were they pissed." - Vince told us. - "And I can assure you that if you keep this thing going next time instead of us you will answer to Mom and Aunt Alexandra." Damn, Mom could be scary when she entered her Luna mode, but aunt Aleksandra Springer could be vicious. "So are you willing to behave yourself?" - Falco asked. "Yeah, I can try to." - I said. "Me too." - said Eagle "Great, now shake it off and let's head back to the castle." I shook Eagle's hand while wondering if we could really become civil towards one another, like our brothers had.
