As soon as Jess got home from work, he was immediately interrogated by his father, “Why didn’t you tell us that Jake was from a very rich family?”
“Didn't I mentioned before that he was pretty wealthy.”
“You didn’t use the adverb correctly. How could you just say ‘pretty’? You call a family worth hundreds of billions ‘pretty wealthy’? That makes our family destitute. We can’t be sure if his family has even more than that.”
But Jess just casually said, “If they have money, then they have money. Why are you so bothered? I’m not even worried about that.”
“You are not worried and you want to blame me for worrying. Aren’t I just concerned for you? He is too rich for you to be a good match.”
Jess couldn't help but laughed out loud. “Ha ha, here it comes. I knew you would say that.”
