Jake was a very busy man. He had only managed to squeeze in a day or so to accompany Jess and Jhu Jhu with great difficulty. And on Sunday afternoon, he may have been reluctant but he had to go back to New York.
In the blink of an eye, the good times slipped away, and he had to go back to work.
Reluctant to part, Jake dawdled until the last moment, and asked Jess, “Will you miss me?”
Jess found it amusing. “You’re not getting arrested and getting in prison. You can also call and text me, and contact me before you get on the plane and after you land. Be careful on the road.”
Jake then asked Jiu Jiu, “Jhu Jhu, will you think of dad?”
Jess exasperated, said, “How can he understand?”
