Actually, the kitten reminded Jess of himself. A weak and ill kitten. Still fighting to live. Jake wrapped the kitten with a dry towel and sat next to the stove to keep it warm. Worried about the kitten, Jess kept his eyes on it to monitor its condition, touching it every now and then, and getting a weak response each time. Jess didn’t sleep, so Jake stayed up the entire night too. By morning, the kitten’s breathing had become more stable. A veterinarian came to check the kitten, prescribed some medicine, and briefly cleaned the stains on its lower body. Jess spent most of the day doing nothing, just watching after the dirty little kitten.
