Jess was stunned, and so was Mr. Maserati.
“You… You didn’t know?”
Jess looked bewildered and shook his head.
Jake's father chastised himself inwardly. It was already a few months after Jake and Jess found each other again, but Jess still didn’t know about this.
It had to be because Jake had deliberately concealed it, but he foolishly let it slip. So he said instead, while laughing awkwardly, “How about you just pretend I didn’t say anything?”
Anf then Jake arrived, driving the car over. It was time to go.
So Jess immediately replied, “I won’t let him know you were the one to tell me.”
Jhu Jhu was in his car seat in the back. Jess helped buckle Jhu Jhu in, gave him a pacifier, and let him obediently play with his fingers.
