Olivia woke to the cold grit of nursery carpet pressed against her cheek. For one disoriented second, she didn’t know where she was. Then she saw the crib. The dresser. The soft yellow glow of the little lamp still burning above the changing table. Her phone lay face-up beside her, screen dark now, notifications stacked somewhere behind the lock screen.
