CASSIAN'S POV She'd been avoiding us all day. I felt it like a dull throb in my temples. A ghost of her scent in a hallway, the flicker of her hair disappearing around a corner. My wolf paced, restless and irritated. Where is she? I found her by the side entrance to the library, hugging her books like a shield. The late afternoon sun hit her hair, turning it gold.
