JULIAN'S POV The words just hung there in the quiet kitchen, heavy and ugly. I watched her, this girl who'd been nothing but a thorn in our side, a living, breathing complication. Her eyes were shining with unshed tears, and she looked so f*****g small in her soft clothes, nothing like the fierce, provoking creature from dinner.
