An Uncanny Event Slowly, the party made their way across the moor to the Mede; at last, the shadowy outline of the old Manor house appeared. First, like a mirage with pale lights shining from the windows, then, when they came closer, it became a reality, the sight of which brought a feeling of warmth and security to all the men except the Stickles.
