A Funeral & Unexpected Guests
The body of Robert Stickles had been taken from it’s death bed and now lay in a coffin at Rexford Church. There were also other articles of interest, such as a few sheep which he found in a stable. At the side of the house a room was found with two sheep carcasses and a side of beef hung on hooks from a beam across the ceiling. A stash of guns and other weapons was confiscated, anything that might be used as evidence. In a small tin by the chimney, a few pounds in coin were hidden, along with two gold watches; the names of the owners were inscribed on them. This was real evidence; the Squire and Constable were pleased with this find.
