In the vicinity of Rexford, it appeared that everyone watched their neighbour, not for being nosey, but for protection against Stickles as he was now a much feared man. Children were told to play within the boundaries of their homes.
Rufus Fox, who was beginning to feel better, accepted employment at the Mede. He did not intend to return to the wrestling ring, but was not against keeping a watch for Stickles.
“I don't think Stickles will bother you, Rufus. He wanted to prove a point to everyone around here and used you to do it”, said Daniel Basehart.
