HOSTILE TAKEOVER
Everything sounded muffled and faraway, there were lights, but they were blurry and vague. There were people moving around, and the water felt soothing against Avery’s skin, until she remembered that it wasn’t water, or skin. ‘Where am I now?’ It took her a moment to understand as she filtered back through recent events. — The E-scape, the pod, the library, the debugger, the explosion. ‘The pool, I’m in the training pool.’
Her new reality came rushing back as the world took form around her. ‘The explosion must have blown me through into the training pool.’ A wave of irritation passed over her, “I don’t have time for this.”
