Before any treatment was administered to Eliza, first aid treatment was provided, and oxygen was also used to aid her breathing right inside the doctor's office. Kael arrived at the doctor's office as requested.

"Doctor, you asked to see me?"

"Yes, Mr. Kael, please take a seat," the doctor offered. Kael sat down opposite the doctor.

"Uhmm, I sent it to you because, firstly, I would like to ask you a very important question," the doctor said inquisitively.

"Alright, Doctor, ask your question," Kael replied politely.

"Have you met her before? I mean, how did you get to know her so well that you had to donate your blood for her to live?" The doctor asked this because he knows Kael Blackthorn, the billionaire; I mean, who doesn't know him in New York City?

"Uuhm, Doctor, I had a terrible accident, and that lady over there saved my life. Even without knowing me personally, she took me to her house and cared for me until I recovered. So this is just me being grateful to her for saving my life," Kael smartly answered.

"Wow," the doctor said, shaking his head in amazement. "She's such a nice and reputable young lady, and I must say for a fact that she deserves it."

"Alright, secondly, I want you to know that at this point in time she needs every bit of support she can get emotionally, financially, and otherwise. She needs rest and most importantly should stay away from noisy environments for better recovery," the doctor stated clearly.

"Okay, Doctor, you can count on me. Thank you," Kael replied assuredly.

"Now you may leave," the doctor said as Kael left his office. The scenario that brought Kael and Eliza together was known by no one else, including Maya. If only she were aware of how they met and Kael's true identity as the Alpha of Shadowfang pack, then she wouldn't dare fight for something that would never be hers.

Maya was furious and angry at Eliza. "You know what? I won't let you have him, I promise you that..." she said while looking at Eliza who was lying unconscious. "Huh," breathing hard. "I'm going to make sure you pay for making me feel..." Just then, Kael entered.

"Oh, you're back?" Maya said with a pretentious smile.

"Yeah, I'm back. What's going on? Is she okay?"

"Yeah! Yeah! She's good," Maya replied with fraudulent smiles.

"So, what did the doctor say?" she asked not really caring anymore.

"Uuuhm, the doctor said she needs enough rest, emotional support, and any form of support we can offer her while staying away from noisy environments for good bed rest," Kael explained.

"We can do that for her right?" he asked.

"Yaah! Yaah! We can! we are good," Maya agreed in sabotage.

The next day... It was time for work and everyone had arrived except Eliza. Maya was at work but was not ready to account for Eliza's absence.

"Uuhmm Maya, what about your friend? Why is she not at work today?"

"My friend? Oh, you mean Eliza. Uuuuhhhh, I don't really know about her," she lied.

"You don't know what? This really sounds weird," Angela said in shock. "I think you should focus on that job you're doing right now so that maybe just maybe if they're sacking her they won't sack you both at the same time," she advised sarcastically.

"Maya, this is not you. Talk to me, what's going on?" Angela became more confused. This time around Maya didn't utter a word...

In the CEO's office... The CEO kept calling Eliza but every attempt to connect with her proved abortive. Her number was unavailable and eventually switched off. He kept wondering what the problem could be as it is unusual for Eliza to miss work let alone not take permission if she does. Just then he recalled that she has a close friend who would know about her welfare.

"I think I should call Maya and ask what the problem is because this is so weird and strange of her." He picked up his telephone and dialed Maya's official line. At once she picked up.

"Hello Maya, please see me in my office," he said and hung up.

A few minutes later Maya arrived at his office and knocked on the door.

"Yes Maya, come in," Mr. Benson said as she entered at once.

"Sir, you called me?" she said gently.

"Yes, I called you here to find out from you what's the problem with Eliza? Why is she not at work today? I have been calling her to no avail."

"Sir, I don't really know what's going on with her, I can't tell."

"You of all people should know her whereabouts but it's fine. You can go now."

Maya left the office smiling to herself. To her, her plans were working out. "I think this is good for a start, by the time she recovers, if at all she'll lose him." She thought to herself... All through her working hours she was busy nursing terrible things in her heart against Eliza but no one was aware of it.

"Now I think I will act fast, she must not come out of this condition alive. Maya thought to herself. All she was thinking about was the best way to ensure that Eliza dropped dead in that hospital bed. And guess what? No one would suspect her.

After work for the day, she went straight to the hospital to carry out her assignment at any given opportunity. Before she arrived at the hospital Kael was waiting for her so he could go out and do some stuff then return later before nightfall.

On her arrival...

"Ohh! Maya! Thank goodness you're here! I have been waiting for you to be back from work," Kael said immediately as Maya entered.

"Uhm, you've been waiting for me? Oh! Why not ask: how was work today first?" she said.

"Pardon me please; how was work today? Were you able to explain the situation on ground to your boss?"

On hearing this Maya's countenance changed. "Oh goodness! Must it be all about her all the time?" she said to him.

"Yaaah! I was and trust me I got everything under control."

"I trust you. So please I want to go get a shower then return back later; I just need you to stay around and look after her." Kael said pointing at Eliza.

"Alright, trust me, I will. Bye!"

"Yeah, bye!" Kael said and was about to leave when he remembered to give Eliza a peck even though she was unconscious of everything happening around her. He walked up to her and gave her a peck.

"I love you Eliza!" Then he left.

"Hmmm," Maya said with an evil smile. "Now is the perfect time to do what I've planned..."
