  Lysa's POV   "Maybe," I said, with more confidence than I felt. "Or maybe you're about to be very surprised."   Ten minutes later, we were both geared up with helmets and bikes, standing at the start of the trail the guys had taken. A few of Iris's friends had gathered to watch, clearly expecting this to be entertaining—the nobody girlfriend getting humiliated by the experienced racer.   I straddled the bike, testing the controls. It had been a while since I'd ridden—my ex-boyfriend in high school had taught me on his older brother's bike, and I'd gotten pretty good at it before we broke up and I lost access.
