“We’re getting marked tonight!” Mercury howls with glee.

    “Will you stop it!” I yelled back in embarrassment as I slipped on my clothes and swapped my heels for sneakers.

    “Mate’s going to be happy you’re pure!” Mercury says with a smirk. Werewolves are open minded when it comes to s*x and, nudity is normalized amongst werewolves. It’s considered abnormal to not satiate ones s****l urges as your wolf develops. With shifter mate bonds, s*x happens almost immediately after meeting your mate. Being a twenty-three year old virgin and half werewolf is unheard of, on multiple fronts. 

    Mercury and I were too busy surviving, we didn't have a chance to think about mating or dating. Once we reached Atlanta, we were safe, and I might’ve considered it. Then Mercury tapped into our bond with Kealamauloa and the excruciating pain from his out of bond mating killed that idea.

    “Are you ready to go my love?” Kealamauloa asked while wrapping his arms around my waist from behind me which made me jump. Why couldn't I smell him?

    “Good goddess don’t scare me like that!” I yelled in mild irritation while I turned around, earning a chuckle from him.

“You’re not the only one who can mask their scent Jade.” Kealamauloa said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes, removing myself from his arms, while I bent down to grab my bag, causing him to lustfully growl at me. Within seconds I was in a bridal carry and my heavy work bag was in his other arm.

    “Jade I’m trying to be a gentleman, but if you tempt me again, I’ll take you right here.” He stated firmly, his eyes were flashing between brown and the ocean blue, indicating that Keahi was fighting for control.

    “I was picking up my bag, not trying to seduce you.” I argued back weakly, he released his scent again so I couldn’t resist my urge to nuzzle into his neck while talking.

            “Chocolate cake is my new favorite dessert; the next time you offer it to me, I’m taking a bite.” Kealamauloa said in a lust filled voice. His eyes went black and then aqua blue, letting me know Keahi took over.

    “Hi mate.” Keahi purrs.

    “Hi Keahi.” I said with a smile. He gave me a wolfish grin before lifting me up enough to pepper my neck with kisses.

    “Loa says I can’t mark your bum, but I want to.” He whines, it’s times like this that I thank Mawu that I’m brown skinned because you can’t see it when I blush.

    “Keahi the mate mark doesn’t…” I started to reply.

    “Loa gets to mark your neck, but when I finally get my turn, I’m marking it. That *ss is mine.” Keahi growls. I shouldn’t laugh, but I can’t help it. I’m reminded of a show my older brother liked with a character that had an obsession with butts, quoting it just felt right.

            “Booty is more important than water.” I said in a mock accent trying to imitate the character. Surprisingly enough Keahi must’ve caught the reference, because he started laughing with me.

    “I likes ya and I wants ya.” Keahi replies, making us laugh even more. Keahi kissed my neck again before staring into my face.

    “Loa is coming back now, see you later mate.” He says with a smile, his eyes change back to brown letting me know Kealamauloa is back.

    “Kealamauloa you can put me down now so we can leave, the employee exit is in the back. I just need to scan my bracelet, so the doors open.” I say.

    “I’ve been wanting to hold my mate in my arms for eight years, I don't want to put you down, indulge me please.” he pleads while giving me puppy eyes. I snuggle into his chest while he walks towards the exit. I watch as his eyes glaze over, he must be mind linking with his pack members.

I asked Jade to let me hold her since I knew, the instant I put her down I would have to fight with Keahi to avoid pouncing on her. Sadly, for him, she cuddled me, but at the same time I’m happy she likes being held by me. Her scent is maddening, Keahi never fights me this much for control, but he wants to stay out. I’m not a gentle lover, but Keahi is a literal animal in bed and I am not letting him loose on our mate... until she asks. It’ll take her awhile to get used to me and I plan to take my time learning everything about her. Before I walk us through the backdoor, I needed to give the pack some instructions, so they won’t bother us for at least two days.

    “Members of Moon Tide UMPH, your alpha has found his luna and your beta has found his second chance mate.” I said through the mind link. The resounding cheers and congratulations for Caiden and I made me smile.

    “What’s our luna’s name? Is our luna ok? Do we know why she ran yet?” asked a few pack members quizzically. 

    "Jade Silver is her name, physically she seems unharmed, and no I haven’t gotten to ask her that.” I replied through the mind link, I’m glad they’re happy about having their luna and making the pack whole.

    “I’m sure Caiden is enjoying his time with his second chance mate and I intend to enjoy quality time with my mate as well. If you bother us for any reason other than a code red pack level emergency, I’ll have your head. No announcing the luna has been found to other pack members back home, she’ll get introduced in person, when she’s ready. Remember we have six more days in the city. you’re all on liberty to go where you want and do what you like. Don’t violate neutral zone bylaws and cause any incidents, good night men.” I stated calmly, I received confirmation that everyone understood me and then I cut the mind link off. 

    I looked down at Jade, she had been watching me mind link with my pack and her expression was emotionless. I wonder what emotions she's trying to conceal. She handed me her bracelet so we could scan out of the employee exit and then we walked around to my rented g-wagon. I opened the door and placed her in the truck, closing her door when her seatbelt clicked, I deposited her bag in the backseat and then I got into the truck and started driving.

            “What’s the name of your pack?” Jade asks me while looking out of the window with a forlorn expression.

    “The Moon Tide pack is ours.” I said proudly, Jade snapped her head to me with a look of shock.

    “Wait a second, the Moon Tide pack? As in the most powerful pack in the Western hemisphere?” she asks in complete shock. It’s understandable that she’s surprised, it’s not every day you find out you’re mated to the most powerful alpha alive and the largest pack around. Then I noticed she started shaking her head profusely and there was an extreme amount of fear pheromones floating in the air. Jade kicked off her sneakers, so she could curl into herself on the passenger seat and, she said five words to me as her tears fell that ripped out my heart.

    “You have to reject me!” she cried while she shook. Keahi and Mercury started whining in pain and Jade was nearly choking me with her fear. I stopped the car on the side of the road. I placed my hand on her upper back and rubbed it in calming circles hoping to provide some comfort to her.

    “Jade I would never reject you, Selene made us for one another, and I want you by my side forever. Talk to me please.” I pleaded with her, she looked up at me with a tear stained face. Her scent suddenly changed, I knew I was only smelling her mate smell, but it didn’t dawn on me she was cloaking her natural scent. 

    I understand why, she smelled like wolfsbane, chocolate covered pomegranates and mana, I'm befuddled. Rogue wolves always smell like wolfsbane, werewolves find the smell repugnant, and that's we identify them from wolves in packs. She lives in a neutral zone, so I’m not surprised she’s a rogue, she can join our pack whenever she’s ready to and that eliminates that problem. It’s the smell of internal magic that perplexes me, that should only be possible for a high-level witch to smell like this… wait a moment a high-level witch? There’s no way, could she be?

    “Jade are you a witch hybrid?!” I tried to ask calmly, but I’m pretty sure my voice went from bass to tenor. I was looking at her in complete bewilderment, if my guess is correct, she’s one of a kind. Witches are a horribly racist lot, from what I know, they kill witches that don’t reject their shifter mates and any resulting offspring as well.

    “Yes, I am and now that you know that you know you have to reject me! I was hoping you were from a small unknown pack, but it’s entirely impossible to hide me when your pack is at the zenith of power! I cannot leave this neutral zone and we cannot be together Kealamauloa!” Jade cries. Watching your mate crying is a hell I don’t wish on anybody, I feel all of her anguish. 

    Now I understand why she lives in a neutral zone. Before neutral zones existed, wars between mystics and human hunter clans often bled into human society. Chaos and bloodshed often befell innocent humans. It was determined by hunter clan heads, the Elder Witch Council, the royal vampires, and the now decommissioned royal werewolves that select heavily populated human cities would be no go zones for any kind of mystic to mystic or mystic to hunter conflict.

    In order for this to work, the witch assassination squad is banned from neutral zones. Hunters are not allowed to go after marks in neutral zones. Shifters and all other manner of mystic are prohibited from having any kind of conflict with each other in the zones as well. These cities were intended to protect humans. On the backend, they also provided safe spaces for rogue werewolves, defector vampires, lone witches, and to my surprise, a living witch hybrid. In the USA, the neutral zones are Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle. Chicago, New York City, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. 

    Her trepidation is reasonable, the moment she steps a foot outside of the city, the seekers can resume their assassination attempts. I softly turned Jade so she was facing me and cupped her chin in my hands raising her head so she could look at me.

“Jade, Keahi and I will never let anyone hurt you again. Our pack will have no qualms with fighting to keep their luna safe, your home is with us now.” I said sincerely, for a moment hope danced in her eyes then she brushed my hands away.

            “They’ll kill every wolf in your territory to get to me and try to harm you and your family as well. I can’t live in peace bringing that kind of c*****e to innocent wolves, just so I can be selfish and live with my mate. The pack and your safety come first!” Jade cried her way through her statement, but even in her tears there was determination and authority in her voice.

When the authority in her voice slipped out, I was shocked again. My Jade is a werewitch, that happens to be a silver wolf and, given how she just spoke to me, she must also be a lunar alpha. Thank you, Selene she’s perfect for me! I needed a woman that was my equal not my subordinate. If she thinks I’m letting those old bags of bones come between us she’s wrong. I try not to let my dire wolf aura out, because most wolves cower in my presence, but I need to test a theory about her alpha status.

    Alphas don’t back away from a challenge. The moment I released my full aura letting the aqua blue and red light dance in the atmosphere, Jade sat up straight and stared me down. The amazing aura she releases is a mix of white silver and green just like her eyes. It shines so brightly that the stars in the sky must be envious of her. When I thought she couldn’t be anymore beautiful to me I noticed her glowing eyes. There is an ouroboros in the pupil of her right eye and the werewolf symbol in the pupil of her left eye. I’m assuming this is a werewitch thing because I’ve never seen anything like this before. I grabbed for her hands kissing both palms before I spoke again.

    “I’m sure the mate bond previously revealed this, but just to confirm it. I am an alpha wolf that also happens to be a dire wolf. Much like you according to other people’s standards I shouldn’t be alive. You are my mate because we are equally yoked with great power and the responsibility it comes with. I am not rejecting you; you are mine and mine to protect. I won’t accept a rejection from you either because I am also yours, you’re stuck with me love. If the seekers want a fight, they’ll get it, if the elder witches want a full-scale war, they’ll have it. Anybody who has ever hurt you or threatened you is my enemy and our pack’s enemy and we always protect our own. Nothing and no one will ever hurt you again.” I growled out with finality.

    I was trying to stay calm, but my mate was selfless enough to be willing to live a loveless life for the safety of a pack she hadn’t even met yet and me. We will protect her by any means necessary. She looked at me with eyes puffy and red from crying, but she smiled at me before jumping into my lap and hugging me tightly, I kissed her forehead before returning her hug. I will never tire of the sparks I felt whenever I kissed or touched her. Keahi purred in agreement, I was enjoying the intimate moment of my mate trusting me, but I couldn’t stay calm with her this close. I know she’s not cloaking her scent, but all I can smell is chocolate covered pomegranates and it’s making Keahi and I go crazy. I’m trying to stay as still and calm as I possibly can, so I don’t scare her, but she shifts in my lap and ended up feeling my excitement.

Kealamauloa said everything with such conviction and finality that I truly felt safe, loved and protected. I missed feeling this way, in my excitement, I jumped into his lap hugging him without thinking. Mercury began airing all kinds of salacious thoughts in my head and I was trying to ignore them, but they got so bad I had to shift around in his lap. When I did my butt brushed up against his mate pleaser and I just froze in shock.

    “The moon goddess hooked us all the way up!” Mercury cheered in my head.

    “Shut up Mercury! Why would you cheer for me being ripped in half?” I yelled my questions in my head. She rolls her eyes at me before coming up to our eyes and having me observe our mate again, taking in every muscle, his beautiful skin, handsome face, his wonderful smell. I’ll give it to Mawu and Selene they were showing off when they designed him and I’m thankful for it.

    “Now that you’ve had the time to look again did you really think a man like this wasn’t going to be packing?” Mercury sneered at me.

When I turned to look at his face his eyes were flashing between black and brown like he was fighting hard to keep his composure. I didn’t want to make things any worse for him so, I started to move out of his lap and back to my seat so he could resume driving.

    However, he didn’t take kindly to that, he growled at me and gripped my hips to put me back in my place. Then he put his head into my neck and started kissing it aggressively. My instincts kicked in and I leaned giving him more access to my marking spot. I wasn’t expecting him to suck on it and in my shock, I let the loudest moan ever slip and I also accidentally released the magic I was using to cloak the smell of my arousal. Before I could register what was happening, he had moved me, so I was straddling him, but he had propped me up a bit, so I was looking directly into his eyes.

    “Use magic to hide how you smell from me again and I’ll punish you.” He said with a grin that looked evil but was simultaneously non-threatening.

    What’s concerning me is that I liked it enough to whimper in response, what is the mate bond doing to me? My sudden noise made his eyes flash black and brown even faster than they were before he sat me down and firmly gripped my butt to bring me closer to him. He started showering my neck with kisses and kissed his way up to my earlobe turning me into a moaning mess along the way. He gently licked and nibble my earlobe while continuously palming my posterior like he thought it would disappear if he didn’t.

“I told you I was trying to be a gentleman, but you’re misbehaving Jade. When you moan like that and you react to everything I do. Like I’m the only man that’s ever touched you, I get greedy.     “Did mate just say what I think she just said?” Keahi asked in complete bewilderment. Jade is the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever met in my life and I’m not just saying that because she’s my mate. She’s half werewolf how on earth did she resist her wolf’s need to have s*x? Is it my birthday? Is there a pink moon in the sky? Selene what kind of hell is coming our way? Because Jade being my mate was already the most amazing thing to ever happen to me in my life. Now she’s telling me she’s never been someone else’s! I don’t deserve this kind of blessing; I almost want to cry. I removed my hand from her pants, feeling guilty when she whined at the loss of contact, but I was about to take her in the truck. If she wasn’t a virgin or was full werewolf and gave me her full consent I would continue, but witches care about their virginity like humans do. I must be considerate to both parts of her even if my lower brain wants to strangle me for it.

    “Jade thank you for telling me that because we need to stop here. Let’s get back to my room first. You deserve to have a better memory of your first time than the backseat of a rented truck on the side of the highway. Even if you say it’s fine I can’t do it, your future mother in law would rip my balls out while my little sisters helped her neuter me and my dad handed them the scalpel.” I said letting a twinge of fear into my voice. Jade thought me being afraid of my family was funny because she laughed so hard, she cried. I playfully swatted her butt causing her to squeak in surprise, making me chuckle.

    “Back to your seat love, Keahi is presently trying to kill me for stopping the fun.” I stated trying my best to keep my voice level. Jade got back into her seat and as soon as I heard the click of her seatbelt, I started the car and sped towards the hotel. I made a twenty-minute drive a ten-minute drive. I grabbed Jade’s bag, and quickly went around to pick her up again before tossing my keys and three hundred dollars at the valet guy as an apology for rushing by him. I went straight to the elevator and pressed the button for the penthouse suite.

    I couldn’t resist my need to kiss her and I was so happy when she let me, her lips are so sweet, and I needed to taste more. She flipped herself around from my bridal carry to her legs wrapping around my waist and her arms locking around my neck like earlier. She kissed me and our tongues started battling for dominance and. in true alpha fashion. neither of us was willing to concede.

    The elevator was filled with our growling and panting, and I want to curse this place for having so many floors! The elevator finally opened to my floor and I walked us to the door of my suite. I had to break our kiss to get my keycard to open the door, once it was closed, I gently pushed Jade against it. I took her hands from around my neck and held both wrists together and kept them lifted above her head. She was watching me curiously and I loved how her eyes were darkening with passionate lust. Using my other hand, I let one finger morph into a claw trailing it down her body and slowly slicing away her hoodie and sweats to reveal the bodystocking I’d been fantasizing about the entire car ride.

    “Mine.” I growled as my claw reached from her thong’s string, I was looking in her eyes making sure she approved before I did.

    “Yours.” She growled back and, with that I cut the tiny bit of fabric that was in the way of my grand plans.

 I carried her towards the bed and laid her down gently before climbing on top of her. She reached her hands out to my face and looked like she needed to tell me something.

    “This is a secret known only to witches, but we don’t mark in the same way shifters do since we don’t have fangs, we mark with magic,” she paused assessing my reaction, so I nodded “ I have to say a spell it just means I’m accepting our mate bond and when you mark me, my magic will mark you back.” She finished. I nodded again giving her permission to do the spell on me, her hands went to the back of my neck and both of her eyes went green and started glowing. Her magic had surrounded the atmosphere and I once again found myself in awe.

“Ego accipere argentum Jade Kealamauloa Hamamoto me mate. Et ego in mea sit, ut in aeternum vinculum ingeri nostro refusus pectori.” Jade says in latin, I think. Whatever she said was the sexiest thing I’ve heard in my life. The spell made the energy in our bodies connect in a way that’s indescribable. It was like I could feel her soul and mine beginning to bond.

    I was desperate to taste her.. I kissed, licked, and s*cked my way down, stopping to give her supple breasts the attention they deserved before continuing my journey.
