Bear sized up their “purchase” with pouty lips and a grunt, as if she had just swallowed down a small rodent. Said: “He’ll do.”
Janet had a word aside with Amici, to the effect of: “Will they do too, for you?”
They walked out Janet’s front door as if in a chain gang: Bear in front, holding the hand of Nest who was behind her, and Nest clinging to the hand of the unwieldly tall Amici behind her. He was stumbling a little and bumping his head on the top of doorways.
“It was a marriage made in my living room,” Janet quipped.
