TWENTY ONE *LAUNCHING AN ATTACK*

2054 Words
Jasper’s POV I looked at the rogues, and from my view point, I could see just how injured and defeated that they were, all so exhausted and completely worn out. But what caught my attention, was the realization that the smallest among them doesn’t appear to be hurt in anyway, he only looked fatigued and lost. The only reason why he should appear this way was if Andrea had used a spell on him, some kind of a mind manipulation to access through his inner mind. I think my attack would be focused on the smallest, I will take on him, cause though unhurt, he appears to be the weakest prey. I moved out from my hiding place and stood in front of them. They were shocked on seeing me, and it was obvious that I have been watching them. My sudden appearance in front of them was unexpected. Maybe they didn’t even suspect someone was after them, or they never expected anyone chasing them to easily catch up with them. I love the negative effect my presence had on them, I love the fear it ignites in them and I can’t wait to do even more of that to them. I intend giving them just a little dose, and that I must surely do. I began walking up to them in a slow motion, making sure they felt the impact of my every move. I wanted nothing more but to ensure that whatever pain that I inflict on them should be fully loaded and very well administered. The rogues all stood up in defense to me. They were ready to attack, and we’re calculating my moves to know where I intend to launch my attack. Sensing that I was coming for the smallest of the rogues, they all stood in front of him, protecting him from me. These rogues were smart, really smart. And they appear strong even with the magnitude of injury they had sustained. I wondered what was going on in their minds, I need to try to figure out their plans for I must not be taken by surprise. I hastened my steps towards them to know their next action. If they remain where they are, it means that they are very weak and would be fighting in defense. But if they should come towards me, it means they are fit and prepared to attack, and if that be the situation, they will be badly, I mean badly hurt by me. I was still trying to decide on the most appropriate move to take when I saw one of the rogues rushed towards me. This move came as a surprise to me as I never expected they would act this soon. He flew into the air ready to pounce on me. I stopped in my track, in the hope of dodging his attack and launching a counter attack at him. I don’t know how effective this my planned defense would be, but I hope it affords me the chance to punch him on the face and make him stagger for balance. From my calculations, going by the speed and height of his jump, he was going to land a feet or two right in front of me, thus, either ways, I stand at a better position. Just as the rogue was about landing in front of me as I had calculated, Paige’s wolf flew in from behind me and landed just in front of the rogue taking it by surprise. To say that I was happy seeing Paige was an understatement. These rogues are completely unpredictable, and taking them down might not be as easy as I had envisaged. Fighting with them only me may lead to death, their death, as they appear to me as rogues that would never give up, but fight to their last breath. The rogue was surprised at the appearance of Paige, and was confused as to which of us to attack first. As this was still going on, we heard some noises in the woods, footsteps of wolves running towards us. They seem to be coming from behind the rogues, and as they turned to see who the incoming wolves were, the wolves of the other warriors pounced on them. Immediately, Paige attacked the rogue in front of us, while I went for the smallest rogue. The battle lasted for some minutes, with us having a greater advantage many thanks to the injuries the rogues have earlier sustained in their battle with Andrea. Seeing that it was a lost battle, the rogues surrendered almost at the point of death, and we led them back to the pack. Alpha Andrew’s POV I stood outside the dungeon together with my beta, Paige, the gamma, Jasper and Jason. We have all ran out of ways to make the sufferings of the rogues to become more intense. We have ran out of punishments. I looked at the wolves, wandering what next to do to get them to talk, and tell me all that I need to know. They have been severely tortured, punishments that even the greatest of warriors could not endure, I had instructed that such be melted out on them with the hope that the pains it caused them would make them to tell me everything I need to know, but all these have been futile, producing absolutely no result, not even a tiny information such as their names. I turned to look at the men beside me, confused as to what other possible line of action would be more effective. “Paige, I think its quite obvious that these rogues are ready to pay with their lives, they’d rather die than furnish us with any information”. I said. I was trying to get Paige's opinion or observation. “If we continue with the torture Alpha, I fear we might lose them. They haven’t even uttered a word to us since yesterday that they were captured” Paige responded. “It’s obvious they are aware that their lives are meaningless compared to the information that we seek”. I said Paige shook his head in pity “this would have led us to something Alpha”. He said in regret. “Of course Paige, you know just how much this means to me, in as much as I seriously have to restrain myself from literally tearing them apart, and make them pay dearly for daring to attack my little girl, I need to get them to talk. “They must be under a very strong oath of secrecy, I was hoping Andrea might have heard any other thing from them that might assist us in uncovering any of these” Jasper said. He was looking at me and hoping his suggestion did not offend me. I thought about Jasper’s suggestions for sometime, and I felt it wasn’t a bad idea. There was basically no harm in asking Andrea a question or two. So I said to Jason. “Jason, go get Andrea for me immediately.” After saying this, I quickly added. “Bring her to my office”. I wouldn’t want her anywhere near these rogues again, I aren’t ready to take any chances. Jason left immediately. I turned to Paige and Jasper and said “lets go to my office”. The door to my office opened, and Andrea walked in, followed by Jason. Just as Paige had suggested, I intend to question Andrea to see if there was anything she heard or saw at the garden that would be of any assistance to us. Jason too have to be here, he is one of our best intelligent personnel and his services would be required here and there. I looked at Andrea, she looks just fine, as if nothing had happened the previous day. Even her friends, apart from the shock they had suffered at the garden, appeared completely normal, and as if nothing happened as soon as we arrived at the pack house. All these are mysterious to me. “I am here daddy” Andrea said. She walked into the office and she went and sat on one of the vacant seats directly in front of me. “The rogues are refusing to talk Andrea, and we have ran out of ideas on what next to do”. I said. I admitted our failure to her, and sought for her help. “one of the rogues daddy, his name is Chard. I was able to get his name through an interception of their mind links”. She said. This piece of information was like a treasure to me, a rare gem. I decided to press further, to see what next I can get. I can sense the tension in the room, we all hoping that Andrea might lead us to where we can safely take off. “How dangerous do you think they are?” I asked. “what powers do they have?” I added before she could respond. “They refused to say who sent them, they must not leave the pack alive daddy. They are evil daddy, evil.” She said. On hearing these words from Andrea, I was outraged, not as if I never knew or suspected this, but hearing it from her goes to show the extent of the evil and how serious they were on harming my daughter. “Daddy?” she continued “I would need to meet with the rogues, allow me to see them, I will be able to manipulate them to get you all the information you seek, just let me get to them. We need to know who they are, where they came from, who sent them, and why would the person desire to hurt me”. She concluded. I stood up at once from I was seated as Andrea made her request to me. How dare she make sure an impossible request, how could she even think of that or has she gone insane? Whatever information I require from the rogues was not worth her life. I refuse to even give this a second thought. I can’t allow her get close to those rogues, I am completely done with this damned investigation. “Daddy” She called out to me hoping she would be able to persuade me to grant her request. I refused to look at her less I tear her apart for even thinking of such, let alone daring to utter it in my presence. I turned to Jason, and was going to ask him to go finish off the rogues, but Andrea plea stopped me, and made me to have a rethink on that. “Daddy, trust me on this”. She pleaded. Hearing her utter these words, I had a change of mind. I am not going to ask Jason to go get rid of the rogues again. As it stands now, I can’t trust him with such task anymore. I immediately shifted to my wolf, ready to go take on the rogues myself, they must die by my hands. I am not ready to spare them even for a little as a second longer. Them all must suffer the pains that they wanted me to go through, the harm that they had intended for my little girl, Andrea. I will inflict even more pains on them to make them know that no one dares to mess with me. Seeing that I have shifted into my wolf form, Paige, Jasper and Jason immediately shifted with me. I rushed out of the room, ready to go finish up the rogues myself. As I leave, I could hear Andrea whisper 'daddy' as she tries to stop me. I don’t mind anymore, they can go to hell with whatever information they think that they possess. I ignored Andrea's call and I ran straight to the dungeon, I could no longer wait to carry out my revenge, my whole being boils seeking revenge. Paige and the rest rushed out with me, leaving Andrea behind.
