Alpha Andrew’s POV
“Andrea, Andrea, someone please get Andrea for me”
I said to no one in particular for I was all alone in the hall.
I felt this sharp pain inside of me, it was so deep and cuts across my heart. It was as if Andrea was in trouble, yes, she was in trouble and I can feel it. She was reaching for me, I could hear her voice calling out to me
She was somewhere, amidst flowers, lovely flowers. No there is nothing lovely about the flowers if it could cause so much pains to my Andrea, to me.
Yes, it's becoming clearer, I think I can see her she is in a garden, she is lying down in the garden. But why isn’t she moving, oh no, I fear for the worst.
This image is just too vivid, so real. My Andrea is in trouble and there is nothing I could do, no, I caused her this much trouble. I could not protect her even within my own pack.
I am slowly going crazy, I am losing my mind. I can’t think straight anymore, it was as if my whole world was falling apart right before my very eyes.
All my efforts, everything I have done to protect my little girl, my angel, all amounted to nothing. No, I did absolutely nothing for her, I mean, I am the cause of everything, I caused it all, I failed my Andrea.
I have to go there, I need to be at that garden. I have to go get my Andrea.
I started walking out of the hall absentmindedly.
I was oblivious of everything around me, I was going nowhere in particular. I just have to go get my Andrea.
As I was going, I stumbled on something, I staggered and I was going to fall down when a hand quickly caught me from behind. I turned to see that it was Paige that had stopped me from falling to the floor.
“Get my Andrea for me Paige, take me to my Andrea” I said as a tear rolled down my face.
“She is fine Alpha” he said trying to console me.
“No Paige no she is not. I can feel it, it’s so real, she needs me, take me to her” I said in defeat.
My life is going to end if there is no Andrea in it, it would be meaningless without her. I looked intensely at Paige, I was hoping he would understand the extent of my pain, understand all that I am going through. I wanted him to share in my pain.
“it would all be meaningless without her Paige, there would be no life without her, absolutely nothing to live for” I said.
“Alpha your Andrea is fine, she will come back to us” Paige assured me.
“I failed her Paige, I couldn’t do anything for her but could only cause her pains, pains upon pains”.
Paige turned his face away as tears run down his face.
I continued to stare at him, hoping to get more reassuring words from him, I needed my best friend Paige to assure me that my angel is safe. But he said nothing but turned his gaze away from me.
Frustrated by his silence, I dragged him on his shirt with both hands. I shook him violently, refusing to let go.
“Say something Paige, why are you suddenly quiet? I am going crazy, your silence is killing me” I yelled at him.
Paige could only murmur inaudibly in fear. He was completely lost as to what to do to pacify me. Already, he knows it is only the sight of Andrea that could bring me back to my normal self.
Defeated, I softened my hold on him, and he slowly pulled away from me without uttering any word.
Just then, I heard some footsteps approaching. I turned towards the door and saw the warriors enter the hall, with the gamma, Jasper carrying my Andrea.
The sight of my Andrea drew me back to reality.
“We found her unconscious in her garden Alpha, let me take her inside to rest”, gamma Jasper said and he took Andrea inside.
I was relieved knowing that Andrea is alive, I wouldn’t bear it if anything happened to her.
“What happened to her?” I asked staring at one of the warriors, Jason.
“We found her unconscious in her garden Alpha,” he said.
He hesitated for a while and then he continues
“Alpha, I think Andrea mind linked us when she was about to pass out, she drew us all to her exact location”. .
Yes, the mind link, that’s what I felt. Andrea was actually calling on me for help, but I allowed my fears take a better part of me. Oh no, I wasn’t even there for her when she needed me the most, I failed her once again, just as always.
“What was she doing in the garden all alone, who allowed her to go out? If anything happens to Andrea, I won’t spare anyone of you, you will all pay with your lives if this should repeat itself next time. I will make sure the person that is responsible for this is adequately punished.” I yelled in my frustration..
“Alpha…” Jason began.
Jason wanted to say something but Paige cuts him off knowing this is not the best time to explain or try to put up any defence.
“You all can go now” Paige said to the warriors and they immediately left.
I looked at Paige, ashamed at myself for my outburst. But what could a poor father do when he has to live in fear of his only child being taken away from him at any time without been able to do anything to prevent such, to defend his daughter.
My Andrea is my all, and anything that have to do with her takes away my sense of reasoning.
“But you know no one can stop Andrea from going to her garden” Paige said to me.
Paige’s words drew me back to the present and got me even more confused.
“And why is that so Paige?” I asked surprised.
“Andrea personally planted her garden Alpha, she watered it with the water from the spring and watched it grow. You can’t possibly take that away from her” Paige said.
I listened with rapt attention, I knew just so little about Andrea. I am beginning to feel ashamed of myself, I have been a bad father.
Paige continues
“you are so lost in trying to protect her that you have lost the joy of being a part of her life Alpha. Please allow the girl enjoy her childhood like every other child".
“I failed her Paige” I said in a low tone.
“No Alpha, you didn’t fail her. Sincerely I understand you my friend, but some things are just meant to be, please allow it be” Paige begs.
I looked down in defeat. I know Paige was right, but I can’t help it. What can a poor helpless father do?.
Paige looked at me and I could detect pity in his eyes.
“Let’s go check on Andrea now Alpha, she needs us” Paige said and led the way.
