EIGHTEEN *REVENGE*

Paige’s POV Upon hearing the instructions from the Alpha, I knew a heavy task has been given to me and failure is not an option available to me. I know exactly what the Alpha wants. He wanted the rogues captured and brought alive, so as to know all about their mission to the Great Crest Pack. Capturing a rogue is a near impossible task, but for my pack and my Alpha, I would do the impossible. Also, knowing that Jasper would go on this mission with me is a great relief. Jasper is a fearsome fighter, very fast and is also very good at tracking. And for this occasion, he would be just what we needed, a great help. I trust Jasper on this, I can’t even begin to imagine what he would do to the person that dares to attack his niece. I must ensure to remind him that the Alpha meant it when he said he wanted all of them back alive, maybe not in one piece, but alive. I looked at the warriors, and I quickly selected a three to join us on this mission. Picking the warriors to accompany me on this mission wasn’t really a difficult decision to make. All the warriors in Great Crest Pack have been selected from amongst the very best in the pack and each is fit for any task and at any time. Immediately I pointed at them, we all took off into the woods. There is no time to waste, the rogues might sense that we would be coming after them, and we don’t expect them to relax at a corner, waiting to captured them. After running for a few minutes, I stopped. And the others stopped too awaiting my further direction. “Its time we all shift, we would run faster in our wolf forms. Just as Andrea had revealed, we would continue going north, everyone of us to different directions. If any of us should spot the rogues, please don’t attack, as much as possible, don’t let them see you. What you would do upon sighting any of the rogues would be to immediately alert the rest of us so we would all attack them at once. That way, we can easily make them to surrender to be captured. But remember, we are going back with them alive” On saying this, I stared at Jasper. I believe he understands why my attention was drawn to him while emphasizing that the wolves be captured alive. I continued “the rogues won’t be able to cross the borders this time around. Words have already been sent to the guards at the border to be at alert and to tighten the security. The whole pack is properly safeguarded and there would be no escape route for them.” After I had finished giving out the instructions, I looked at them for questions, but none came. Since I assume we are all cool, I pointed the direction that each should follow, and immediately shifted to my wolf. ****************************** Alpha Andrew’s POV I watched as Paige ran into the woods followed by the rest. The zeal they displayed in fulfilling this task is second to none and I have no doubt that they would succeed. My only little fear is Jasper. I don’t really see the possibility of him allowing someone that as much as dares to attack his little niece an extra second to breath. When I gave my instructions to return with breathing rogues, I had focused my gaze on Jasper to make sure he understands just how serious I was and how important that means to me. He had appeared to perfectly understand my instructions. Anyways, since Paige is leading the search, I have nothing to worry about. I trust Paige to handle this perfectly well. I looked at the kids, they are all exhausted. They need to rest cause it has really been a long and tough day for them. “Kids let’s go home, everything will be okay, I assure you guys of that”. I tried to reassure them. Andrea smiles at me. I could only nod back at her because right now only revenge would give me the peace I need. I led the kids into the car. Jason offered to drive, but I declined. I rather drive them myself, because right now, I could only trust myself to take them safely back home. Jasper’s POV I looked at Paige, I knew exactly why he was emphasizing on capturing the rogues alive. I am no daft, in as much as I would love to use my teeth to tear each and every one of them apart and feed their flesh to the vultures, I know the importance of their being alive to the Alpha. A little patience would not kill, I can patiently waiting for the Alpha to do whatever he wants with them and then they would be all mine. The thought of this gladdens my heart. Since the patient dog gets the fattest bone, I might just as well pick to be the patient dog this time around. At the thought of this, I smiled to myself. Immediately Paige gave direction on where to go, I shifted into my wolf and ran into the woods. Whatever happens, I want to be the first to see the rogues. I don’t know what I plan on doing to them, but a little c***k here and there wouldn’t be a bad idea. After running for sometime, I stopped to take in my environment. I decided to look for possible footprints or maybe capture any distinct scent that would point at the rogues. I sniffed the air, but there was no scent to capture, no smell of any werewolf around. Maybe they had used magic to cover up their scents in other to forestall any form of tracing. I looked on the ground for footprints, and luckily I discovered some. I studied the prints carefully. My search showed the footprints should be that of some fleeing wolves, the speed at which they ran was outrageous. I also discovered that the fleeing wolves should have covered a great distance if they had continued with that same speed. I immediately contacted Paige and the rest of the search team through our mind links. “Guys, I can see their footprints and from what I discovered they are running very fast, from my calculations this should be at the speed of 70 kilometers per hour. You guys already know my location, so we increase our speeds, while you guys focus your race towards my location. And I believe that if we should keep to this, we would surely catch up with them before nightfall”. I instructed. “Thanks Jasper, that’s a great discovery that would aid our search. You have done a very good job.” Paige commended my efforts. “So let’s all keep to Jasper’s guide”. Paige said to the rest. With this, I intensified my steps to match with that of the rogues. After running for some minutes, I was caught by the signs of some footprints. This time around, the footprints were more clearer, I could detect the footprints of about three wolves. From the prints, it clear that they had rested at this spot for a few minutes. Wow, this is a great discovery. For the rogues to have stopped to rest shows that they are truly terribly injured. They are still very far and if my calculations are correct, we would be catching up with them in less than two hours. We have been on this chase for over two hours now and it seems the nearer we get, the farther they go. I only hope these footprints are real, and we’re not planted here to fool and mislead us, I thought to myself as I continued my race. I have been running in this woods for over an hour since after my last discovery. My instincts tells me that if I keep up with this speed without relenting, I would catch up with the rogues in no distance time. I just have to keep going. As I ran, I was beginning to sense some presence. I tried hard to take in the presence but I couldn’t. It’s obvious the presence does not want to be discovered. I paid more attention to the presence as I ran, I increased the velocity of my speed to get closer to the presence that I feel. If the presence is that of the rogues, then they must be into some very strong to magic for someone like me to find it difficult to detect and locate them. So far, no magic has been able to prevent me from scenting a wolf as this did. In my deep concentration, I discovered that the presence were about five, they were werewolves running in the woods, running away from being discovered. They were rogues, running away from us. I discovered I was getting closer to them. I mustn’t be seen or discovered by them, so I have to reduce the sound I made while running. I have to appear as invisible as possible. Then I noticed that they were slowly down, obviously to take some rest. I was in the same track with them, and if I should continue in this track, they would sight me from afar. Now the best solution is to run in-between the bushy parts, that way I would be perfectly under cover. Having decided on this plan, which I believe is the best, I followed the bushy part. I wanted to mind link Paige and the rest, but I quickly decided against that. I want at least one of these rogues to feel my fury before appearing before the Alpha. I sighted the rogues, the five of them lying down under a tree, exhausted from running. I monitored them for a minute from my hiding place. From my view point, I think that with the state they are in, I can easily launch a clean attack on them without them knowing. But I quickly decided against that. I will make them see me, then I will attack. That way they wouldn’t claim to have been defeated as a result of been taken by surprise.
