The Prophecy of Hydrangea

THIRTY ONE *HYDRANGEA 2*

As soon as I was done destroying the flowers and pulling down the store, I ran into the pack house for some fuel and matches myself. I was going to burn down the whole thing, and I will make sure Betty and anyone else that is behind this is severely punished.

I watched the whole place go up in flames and I was fulfilled. I still find it hard to believe that I have been fooled all these years. I have these flowers under my nose, and I wasn’t aware.

I matched into the house, screaming Betty’s name. She runs to meet me, panting and scared to her bones. Paige followed after me, not satisfied with the way I was handling all of these, but right now, his opinions mean absolutely nothing to me, so he can as well go to hell with them.

I looked at her, for the first time she disgusts me. I will never forgive this laxity on her part, how dare she be a part of this knowing how clear my instructions were.

“Speak up now Betty, tell me everything.” I growled at her.

Paige’s POV

I wished there was something I could do right now to divert all of these, I can’t stop the Alpha, what am I supposed to do to save him from his own fury, this rage that was bent on consuming him.

Even though I never knew of the existence of a flower house right here, I have always had my doubts about Andrea going for long without her precious flowers.

Betty ran to the Alpha, trembling as she appeared before him, she was in fear, and was shaking seriously. She was lost as to what to do to safe herself from all of this. She knows just how dangerous the Alpha’s wrath can be, she has seen him act and she had never liked what she saw.

“Nothing Alpha, I know nothing about it, absolutely nothing” she trembled as she speaks.

“Do you take me for a fool?”

The Alpha shouted as he lands a very hot slap on her face.

Betty let’s out a painful groan as she staggered and falls to the ground as a result of the effect from the Alpha’s slap. The marks of the Alpha’s hand reflected on her face. As she tried to stand back up, she fell again and this time even harder.

I was going to grab her back up when the Alpha voice brought me to a halt.

“Do you still maintain you know nothing, you fool” The Alpha screamed.

Betty sobbed unable to utter any another word.

“Drag her up and holds her hands right now”

The Alpha instructed one of the guards at the door.

The guard quickly went and lifts Betty and held her hands at her back.

“Let go of her right now, I order you”.

A very loud voice said in a frightening tone.

I turned to see who has just spoken, who dares to challenge the Alpha’s command. Only to see Andrea walk in and went straight to face the Alpha.

Hearing the voice, the guard immediately let go of Betty hands in fear and runs back to his post. The sudden release caused Betty to fall, but Andrea quickly goes to hold her from falling.

The Alpha stared at Andrea in fury, annoyed at her guts.

“It was just me Alpha and no one else. So what are the consequences, impose them on me” Andrea said to the Alpha.

I was shocked hearing Andrea refer to her father as Alpha, she never does that. And I could tell that the Alpha was equally as shocked as I was, and was wondering what had come over his daughter.

“Let her go and for once let me bear the consequences of my actions Alpha Andrew of Great Crest Pack.” She commanded.

The Alpha was bewildered by Andrea’s disposition, he waved at us to leave immediately, and we all left, together with the guards, leaving just him and Andrea.

Andrea’s POV

“I had lived in my own shadows all these years, all thanks to your authoritativeness. The Alpha of Great Crest Pack calls the shot, he alone gives the order” I said.

I moved back and forth as I speak.

The Alpha was totally confused about this drama of mine. I looked at him, his sight disgust me, I can’t help the volume of hatred I have towards him at the moment.

“What all these about princess?”. He asked.

From how his voice trembled, I could tell he was in panic.

“You destroyed it all, razing everything that I hold dear to the ground, and not even a thought about how I felt, not for even one minute did you stop to think about me.” I screamed at him.

“It was all for you dear, I did all of it for your sake, to protect you my dear”. He pleaded.

His voice was strangely low.

The claim of doing whatever he did for me totally pissed me off, it was all about him all along.

“Tell me Alpha Andrew, what exactly have you achieved by destroying all that matters to me, why did you order for the destruction of the flowers?” I asked. When no response was coming from him, I continued.

“Never for once did I suspect it was you all along. I completely trusted you, I relied on your protection. All these years I had made excuses for you, thinking you were just being worried for my sake, but you did it all out of your ego, ego of an Alpha”. I screamed as said this.

“Stop it, it’s not what you think”. My father pleaded.

I couldn’t listen to his plea, I didn’t care what defense he wants to put up. Instead I continued in my batter.

“Andreaaa” he shouted when he couldn’t hold it on any longer.

I stopped and moved closer to him, I concentrated on his face, trying to meet his gaze but he avoided mine.

“Andrea, is there any one bearing Andrea here, don’t call me that again.” I spat.

He was shocked at what I just said. Obviously he never expected his secret to be known to any. He murmured something which I didn’t clearly hear, he tried to something, but was unable to utter any coherent word.

“Do you know the sacrifices I made just to satisfy your selfishness, do you know all that I have lost. My movement has long been restricted, not even a mate to show for your presupposed love and care, no flowers, must I keep losing to make you happy, I lived like a stranger in my own father’s pack. Every other person knows what is going on apart from my very self”. I said in my breath.

I paused for a while and continued.

“How was I to know that you ordered the destruction of flowers, and carefully carved out a plan to keep me from ever asking questions”.

I paused again for breath for some seconds and then continued.

“How long do you intend to keep altering my destiny Alpha Andrew, just how much do you think you can change?”.

I move to the far end of the room and with my back turned towards him I asked.

“Who else knows I am Hydrangea, daddy?

Getting no response after about a minute, I turned facing him. Frustrated by his silence, I screamed.

“Only you, Just how much of these secrets do you have inside of you? All these years I have been searching for answers not knowing you hid them all, I lived in the dark, knowing nothing about my purpose on earth”

I paused for some breathe and continued.

“You thought you kept me away from flowers for 6yrs, can you even believe such possibility, let me tell you daddy, all these years, no day passes without me been with my flowers, I mean not even a single day. Know this daddy, there are some things you can not control daddy, so many things you can never change and my destiny is one of those things”.

“Stop it right this very minute, you have really gotten at my nerves, don’t stretch me any further.” He screamed.

I was flabbergasted by his outburst. Was he the one whose destiny has been willfully tampered with, was he the one whose future as it appears right now might have been totally wrecked, was he the one that has been made to live in lies all his life, what right does he has to be angry.

“I owe you absolutely no explanations for my decisions.” He said.

After saying this, he turned his back towards me.

“You know what daddy, I have been an obedient daughter all these while, doing everything just to please you, and sneaking into hiding to please myself. I will leave your pack for you, cause that’s the only guarantee of me living my life and fulfilling my destiny”. I said in low tone.

As I turned to leave, I was met by my mother as she rushed in.

“What’s going on here between you two, why the shouting Andrea?”. She asked holding my hands.

I slowly remove her hands from mine and said to her in a low tone.

“Hydrangea mum, I am Hydrangea. And your alpha knows better” After saying this, I stormed out of the room, leaving her lost in her confusion.

Alpha Andrew’s POV

Hearing all these accusations from Andrea when all I had ever done was to protect her was disheartening. I wanted so much to hug her and explain everything to her, but my pride wouldn’t let me. If after all I had to bear for her sake, she considers me evil, then so be it.

I don’t care where she might have gotten all her information, I am her father and the sole duty of protecting her falls on me.

I had to scream at her to shut up when I heard her talk about her destiny, she knows nothing about what her destiny holds, she knows not what future awaits her.

I have spent almost my whole life trying to forestall the evil that is yet to be formed, trying to alter the course of nature in her favour.

I had told her plainly that I owe her no explanations. A father owes no one any explanations for the things he had to do to protect his child, it is his duty and he answers to none.

“You know what daddy, I have been an obedient daughter all these while, doing everything just to please you, and sneaking into hiding to please myself. I will leave your pack for you, cause that’s the only guarantee of me living my life and fulfilling my destiny”.

Those were her exact words before she stormed out of the room. I had wanted to stop her, I wanted to grab her and tell her I was ready to play it all on her rules, keeping to her terms. But then, my ego, it just couldn’t let me move an inch.

I became emotional as I heard her footsteps marching out of the room. I wanted to break down.

How was she going to survive, she had never left my side for once ever since she was born. For the past nineteen years, she has been by my side every single day. How was I was I supposed to live without her.

I turned my back, facing the entrance. I will stop her from leaving, she must not leave my side, I will not survive a single day without her.
