I wasn't a person who woke up in the middle of the night for any reason, not even to use the bathroom. I slept tight on most nights, and the nights I didn't, sleep paralysis did the job for me. However, on this particular night, I was cold. Maybe it was because the night had been chilled and I had forgotten to turn off the air condition, let alone switching on the heater. It must've been a little after dawn when my eyes opened after struggling to go back to sleep for long.
And despite shivering underneath the blanket, I couldn't help but notice how dry my neck felt, almost as if it was sandpaper.
I needed to drink some water.
