I stared between Christian and steve who finally noticed my presence.
“What is this?”
Steve rose smoothly and walked toward me like none of this was strange.
“What’s wrong, beautiful?” Before I could move, he touched my cheek.
I jerked back. “Don’t touch me.”
He only smiled wider. “You look troubled. Is it because of the media? I'll handle it, don't worry. They won't disrespect you and get away with it.”
“I asked what he was doing here.” I pointed at Christian.
Christian lifted his glass. “I call it…networking.”
I looked at Steve. “How long have you two been working together?” My heart began to pound violently.
What were they planning together?
Did Christian know Steve all along and they planned all this together?
What was their end game
