“You betrayed me.”
Consequences
That's the only thing in my mind as I notice the way his grip has gotten tight. It's as if he's digging his nails through my skin.
But it's his eyes which are staring at me without giving me a chance to escape.
And Betrayal seems like the worst thing after knowing how he's never going to let it slide.
But what did he expect from me? That I would be happy to play his wife in public, who he could toss around like the object he owned?
“Because I couldn't betray myself…" I murmur, my voice barely making out that it feels like a ghostly whisper in my head.
