The cheerful songs of birds drifted through the open window as a cool morning breeze filled the room.Soft rays of golden sunlight slipped through the curtains and land directly on Luke's face.
Luke's POV
I groaned and buried my face into my pillow.
"what the heck? can't this stupid sun let me sleep for one more hour".
With a reluctant sigh, I dragged myself out of the bed and stretched my aching body. Running a hand through my messy golden hair. I winced.
seriously.....I haven't even brushed it in two weeks.
As an undergraduate struggling to pay tuition and rent, I barely had time to take care of myself. I rushed to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and took a quick shower. After drying off, I dressed in an off-white shirt, brown trousers and polished black shoes. I combed my golden hair until it looks presentable, slipped my wallet into my pocket and left my tiny apartment.
The cool morning air kissed my cheeks as I hailed a taxi. About twenty minutes later the taxi stopped in front of a magnificent mansion.I paid the driver, thanked him, and walked into the large iron gates.

"Luke! "
I looked down just in time to see Acacia throw herself at my legs. A laugh escaped my lips as I bent down and scooped her into my arms.
"Good morning princess" I said gently brushing a few strands of hair away from her face.
"Did you sleep well? " she nodded, enthusiastically wrapping her tiny hands around my neck.
"I missed you"
"I missed you too"
Despite only being four years old. Acacia had somehow become the brightest part of my mornings. Carrying her into my arms, I headed towards the dinning room. The delicious smell of freshly made breakfast filled the air, but before I could take another step forward, I stopped.
Lewiston Eli
He stood beside the floor-to-ceiling window with a steam mug of coffee on one hand. The morning sunlight illuminated his sharp features. His neatly styled hair, steel- gray eyes ,and perfectly tailored black suit made him look more like a model than the CEO of Eli group.
He was breathtaking
And terrifying.
"Good morning, Mr Eli ", I greeted politely.
Without even sparing me a glance, he took another sip of his coffee.
Ignored
Again.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
Typical.
Instead, I carried Acacia to her chair and placed a bowl of her favorite cereal in front of her.
"There you go, princess"
She clapped happily before digging into her breakfast. Watching her always made me smile, she looked exactly like her father ,the same silver- gray eyes, the same dark hair.
Even the tiny frown she wore whenever she was concentrating reminded me of him.
"Luke"
His deep voice echoed through the room.
I slowly turned around
Lewiston was staring directly at me.
"I need to talk to you" he said.
"yes, sir? "
He placed his mug on the table before taking few steps towards me.
For some reason.....
My heart started racing.
"I need you to marry me".
what!!!
