A Warning!

Brandon was busy discussing Alia’s situation with his parents through their three way open mind link, accommodating only the three of them when suddenly the energy in the room shifted. They stopped the mind link and frowned. His mother looked at them and instantly knew that something wasn’t right. Brandon instinctively scanned the room for Alia. His eyes landed on her sitting in the corner, yet she seemed to be drawn towards the door for some reason . Curiously moving his eyes towards the door, a young woman was heading their way with a middle-aged man walking beside her, whom he recognized as Alpha Winsley, the woman’s father. Deeply Frowning, he probed, “What’s Alpha Winsley doing here?” Both his parents looked in the direction he was looking in and frowned, their auras frowning along with them. Brandon noticed that his parents were releasing too much of their aura, making the people in the room bow their heads instinctively. It was just something in their alpha blood that made others bow to them. Their entire being commanded respect! Brandon nudged his dad. “I see you’re no longer in need of a pack “, his nonchalant remark caused Brandon’s father to deepen his frown. Looking around and seeing all the heads bowed with sweat on each one of his warrior. He eased it a bit. His eyes landed on the curious-looking Alia. Surprised, he looked back at Brandon, locking eyes with the ‘ I told you so’ look fleetingly crossing Brandon’s eyes before resuming his bored, don’t care demeanour. Brandon’s father tried taming his wife, coaxing her to calm down. He could see how difficult it was for his dad to contain both himself and his mother at the same time, yet he managed. Talk about a true mate. The pair coming their way smiled and bowed to them, showing a sign of respect. That’s what every alpha and his/her companion do when they are in another alpha’s pack, to show respect towards the alpha and his Luna. It also lets the alpha and Luna of the pack know that they come with no ill intentions, just peace and kinship. “Good day Luna, alpha.” The woman kept an impeccable smile on her face. Which would’ve driven Brandon crazy if this woman was to be his fated mate. But she wasn’t. Brandon knew their motive and even though he was to expose it, he would seem cynical and ill willed. The woman made eye contact with him and something quickly flashes across her eyes before shifting her gaze to his mother. ‘ Was that… lust I saw?’ he frowned a little at his own thoughts and dismiss them. He knew exactly what she wanted, and he was dead as hell would not give it to her. ‘ She’s damn persistent for an alpha’s daughter.’ He thought to himself. Brandon stood there leaning on the table while taking a few sips off of the juice his dad gave him when he was about to pour himself some good whiskey. ‘ugh’. Distracting himself, Brandon looked round the room. Only to see Alia choking. Instinctively, Brandon stood straight and was about to go to her when Daniel appeared out of nowhere, handing her a glass of water. She didn’t even bet an eye on it and gulped the whole thing down her throat. ‘God, I didn’t think she was this stupid and gullible.’ He saw Daniel taking a seat beside her, saying something to her with a smile. He couldn’t hear what they were saying, but her response wiped that smile off of his face. ‘ That’s my girl’, he chuckled internally with a slight smile on his face. “You look happy, Alpha Brandon.” Turning towards the voice, “can’t I be happy?” Brandon coldly yet nonchalantly stared at the woman standing with Alpha Winsley. She is the daughter of alpha Winsley and the most prized possession of the Creedmoor pack, Laura Larson. Nobody knows why the Creedmoor pack values her this much. All they know is not to mess with the pack’s princess. Everyone except for Brandon, of course, he cared less about what she’s made of. “Don’t get me wrong, you can, but you need something else to be a lot happier.” She says, still smiling. Her response made Brandon internally cringe, since he knew what she meant. Yet playing ignorant, he pushed forward, wanting to hear what she had in mind “…and what would that be, Miss Larson?” He probed, well aware of the answer. “A woman,” she says stupidly, looking proud of her own response. “I already got two in my life, Miss Larson, so that should make me a lot happier, right?” he looked straight at her, causing a shiver to run down her spine. The smile she had been trying to keep faltered. Before she could utter another stupid word, Daniel, as always, saved the day with his sudden appearance. “I need a drink Brandon, an entire bottle of cognac would do right now for your misinformation,” he pointed at Brandon lazily. Unfazed by his blunter, Brandon looked at his glass as if deeply thinking of something “I told you to either stay away from her or she’d make you run away from her didn’t I?” he smirk while playing with the glass that’s now almost empty. “No! You, Brandon King, told me she was hot headed. You never said anything about spicy!” He says a little defeated. “Well now, you know.” He shrugged like it didn’t really matter. It wouldn’t have made any difference, even if he knew beforehand. “Found your match?” he raised his thick black eyebrow, slightly curling one corner of his lips. He could see through the corner of his eye that Miss Larson wasn’t very happy about not being included in the conversation. She kept looking past them, frowning with annoyance creeping up her face. Daniel was about to ask if she was okay, when she suddenly asked to be excused. Brandon gladly gave her the GreenLight. Giving him a faint yet shy smile, she walked past him. Leaving a whiff of her musky perfume, causing Brandon to frown a little. He subconsciously thought of Alia’s rose, jasmine and lavender scent that creates quite a unique soft scent. Daniel sighed while he glanced at Miss Larson for a short moment before turning to look at his friend curiously. “What is it?” he enquired while playing with the ice in his almost empty glass, busy twirling them. “Are you sure you want to marry her? Concern laced Daniel's voice, and his face showed evident worry.. It was rare seeing Daniel serious. Whenever he was serious about something, it meant that it bothered him. “We made a promise to her father to make her Luna of this pack in order to strengthen both packs, Daniel.” Brandon uttered, trying hard not to think about it. “No, your grandparents made that pact with them. Not you nor your parents.” He says while pointing his finger at him. “Well, my parents were part of it. They signed as secondary witnesses and agreed to the pact using the family seal.” He shares with a gloomy expression. “What? You decide to tell me this now?! “he hisses a little loudly, making people to stare at them. Brandon’s parents looked their way from the table they were sitting at, concern evident on their faces. Brandon nodded his head, assuring them that everything was okay before giving Daniel a warning look. Daniel knew what he meant, but he was too irritated by the whole fiasco to care at this point. Staring back at his glass. Brandon gave a dissatisfied frown. “Watch your tone, Daniel.” He calmly gave a warning to his beta. The venom laced in his voice sending a warning shiver down his spine. Daniel instantly bowed his head and bared his neck to Brandon, instinctively following the alpha command. A common reaction to Brandon’s gloomy, suppressive aura. Closing his eyes, he tried to control his clawing wolf from taking over to punish Daniel. His wolf was one of the rarest ancient wolfs. The original line to what they have now. Imagine his punishment to a new generation shifter if it ever angrily took over. It had already taken Brandon so much time to be able to control his wolf. Letting it loose now will only be a cause for a disaster. He opened his eyes a few seconds later, painstakingly trying to calm Chaos down. “I’m sorry”, he breathed. His hand massaging his throbbing temple “It’s okay. I just want to see you, happy man. Yes, powerful but happy.” He states, causing Brandon to sigh in exhaustion, “I know, but there’s no other way.” He stared determinedly at his best friend, knowing well that there was another way. A way he didn’t want to take. “Speaking of it, I think you might want to go save your Luna from Alia.” Daniel smiled at him while looking towards the direction Ms Larson went. Following his eyesight, Brandon’s stomach dropped to his balls seeing the Larson woman holding Alia’s wrist, evidently spitting in her face. Even though he had never spent time with her, Brandon knew Alia well enough. He knew she would never start unnecessary fights unless prompted to do so. Harshly putting his glass down, he took long quick strides towards them, with Daniel following behind. Halting his steps midway, he hears Alia being harshly reprimanded for serving herself food. The woman was pointing and tugging at Alia roughly like she’s doing to a child. A menacing frown formed on Brandon’s handsome face, making him look more like a monster. The temperature in the room too dropped, like they were living in the poles. He watched as the Larson woman disrespect Alia. “No omega is allowed to eat at this table or take more food than what they are given. Do”. Don’t mistake generosity for weakness,” she spat loudly, purposefully. Looking around, Brandon sees his parents’ gloomy faces. The scene Miss Larson had caused was now given full attention by everyone in the room. His mother’s mind link went through him. “Do something Brandon!”. He had given his promise to protect Alia, even though he wanted nothing to do with her. He could not stand by and watch, as they disrespected him through Alia. He could hear that that his mother wasn’t very happy about what was at hand. What irked him more was Miss Larson’s rank used to belittle others and, of all the people in the room, she had to choose Alia. “Excuse me,” hearing a familiar voice, Brandon couldn’t help but scowl at the way her voice made him feel. His annoyance for Alia fuelled the anger within him, causing his wolf to push forward more forcefully and almost losing control over him. Daniel pushed his wolf forward, seeing Chaos trying to take over Brandon. The only other wolf capable of calming him down was his beta wolf, Knight. “Oh, you talk back? I see all the food has made you forget who you’re talking to, mutt. I have authority to throw you back to the dumpsters, where you belong…” Hearing all she was saying to Alia, Brandon couldn’t stand to listen to her anymore as his last string of patience broke off, allowing his raging wolf to take over without shifting. Wasting no time, he took a step forward, but a hand clamped onto his shoulder. Knight’s calm yet playful voice sounded from behind him. “ Don’t! Just wait for it. Trust me, you’re going to want to see this.” Huffing for a while, Chaos retreated after much persuasion and contemplation. Giving Brandon back the little control he had taken. Brandon looked at the pair, who looked like they were on the verge of a dogfight and breathed. He noticed Alia closing her eyes for a few seconds and frowned. When she opened them, he knew she was going to piss on the Larson girl’s face. “Here it comes.” Daniel chimed calmly behind him. Brandon could feel his excitement right through his usually calm façade. He raised the corners of his lips a little, knowing that Daniel’s probably right. They didn’t need to wait long for it to happen, either. “Who do I think I am?” Alia asked calmly while closing the distance, not shying away from Miss Larson’s eyes. Not even blinking. Brandon had seen her mad before, right when he used to protect her in the shadows. But this level of anger was dangerously engulfing. It made him feel something crawl up his skin. When his hair stood on end, he knew… she was dead-ass mad. Alia smirked. “You see, you don’t deserve to know who I think I am, sweetie, but I would gladly give you a brief insight on it. I am definitely the woman I think I am, not a man-hunting w***e, who climbs her way up a title like the little slut that you are.” His ears buzzed a little when he heard her say that to Miss Larson. His jaw dropped in utter disbelief, almost hitting the hard marbled floor. His wolf, Chaos, was also enjoying the show as he laughed in his head with its paws up in the air. Daniel, who’s been standing behind Brandon for a while now, was trying his utmost best to contain his laughter, failing dismally. A mind link opened with his mother’s voice intruding his head “Now that’s Ginnie’s younger version right there.” Turning to look at both his parents, they were also trying their hardest to contain their proud smiles with their wine glasses on their lips. On the other hand, Alpha Winsley wasn’t really happy about the turn of events. He stood up gloomily and walked towards the Ladies with large strides. Brandon watched his every move, squinting his eyes like a hunter aiming at its target. He was ready for anything. Alia was now acting like nothing ever happened, filling her own plate with assorted freshly cut fruits. Brandon couldn’t contain a small smile etched on his handsome face. He watched as Miss Larson acted like she was having a seizure, trying so hard to retort, yet she had nothing. There was a lot she could’ve said to Alia, but she was too dumb and narrow minded to think about a better response than rehearsed ones she always used to belittle others. Yes, he had heard about her belittling nature, but he never thought she would do it in his pack with no shame. She had no boundaries, nor did she respect him and his parents. Alpha Winsley walked towards the girls, looking livid. Upon stopping in front of them, he took a look at his daughter. His face looked like he was about to burst a vein as he stared at Brandon accusatory. “Is this how you treat your guests, Alpha Brandon, allowing a mere servant to talk back and insult my daughter, your, Luna?!” he roared, allowing his wolf to come dangerously close to the surface as his eyes flickered between their usual light brown colour and the wolf’s golden colour. Brandon knew that the pathetic alpha was gunning at him, trying to instil his authority on Brandon. He knew that he was afraid of his father, but Brandon was also no pushover. Winsley should know that by now. He simply looked at him, not being affected at all by his sudden outburst. Putting his hands in his front pockets, Brandon slowly walked up to them. He stared at Alpha Winsley straight in the eye with his aura pouring off of him like the lava of a volcano that was about to erupt. The ones around knew not to underestimate his calm exterior. They knew the calmer their alpha looked, the more dangerous he was. Stopping a few inches in-front of alpha Winsley, he stared down at the pudgy looking middle-aged man who was trying his best not to cave in-front of Brandon. “I do not know who you think you are, Winsley. Coming to my pack, causing a scene in my house, and accusing me and my people of your daughter’s disgusting behaviour.” Brandon bent a little closer for alpha Winsley to get a clear view of his face. “I don’t care who you are or where you think you came from – I do not tolerate even the slightest disrespect from outsiders either. Whether it’s towards me or my people, I would not think twice to wipe your pathetic bloodline and leave your pack with no alpha. I am not my Father.” His calm yet venomous warning sent a shiver down everyone’s spine as his chilly words froze his surroundings . Alpha Winsley stood there with sweat trickling down his expensive suit. He didn’t want to yield to Brandon, thinking he could push the young alpha to obey his orders. He thought he’d be able to wrap him around his finger and use him to his own advantage but, he had miscalculated his confidence to tame him. Colour had drained from his face while beads of sweat were forming on his forehead. He didn’t want to make an enemy out of Brandon, since it would benefit his own pack if their packs forged a marriage alliances. “U-Understood.”
