~KAI'S POV~

You know the feeling you get when you are waiting for someone really special to come around and claim you as theirs? Well, it's just hope and I am over it. I don't think she is coming now.

My mate. I am talking about her. I know, I am in high school and I am only eighteen but seeing my pack members with their mates, looking lovingly in each others eyes like the world doesn't matters anymore, it hurts.

So, I gave up. I practically scoured the whole town in her search but, no luck. I know, now you will say, it's not important that she should be in the same town as yours. Trust me, I know. But a man has his needs and it's getting impossible to control.

So here I am, a total man w***e. I know, if I find my mate, I am gonna regret this and I know I have low self esteem but I don't want to think about any of this when I am in a bed with someone.

Yep, I am, now. But finished.

So I gathered my scattered clothes and left the slut's room and made my way upstairs and to my room. I don't even know her name and I didn't bothered asking. Who cares. No, I am not hurting anyone. When I am taking a girl with me, they know my terms and conditions: No feelings involved.

Let me introduce myself for good. I am Kai James, waiting to become the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack which is ruled by my father, Alpha Kane, currently.

I reached my age to be the Alpha but I need my mate to lead the pack. Your mate makes you stronger and she helps you see the world from her opinion. A different point of view. A more sensitive one.

As the Alpha blood flows in my veins, I crave power, more power. So, I have decided if I don't meet my mate this year, then I am marking Grace, my best friend. I think we make a good couple and everyone in the pack thinks the same, or that's what I know. We also love each other being the childhood best friends and after the mating process, this love will increase for good and I will become the Alpha of my pack.

As much as I crave for power, I am kind and supportive of my friends and glad that they do the same. Not that they have a choice but I know that it's genuine.

By the time I came back to my room, it's five in the morning. Mostly pack is asleep at the time so I decided to sleep a little more as my alarm for the school goes off at 6:30.

Lunch time came in the school and I and all my friends are sitting at the same table in the canteen. Levi, my beta, is eating his food as a random chick straddles his lap. His case is the same as me. He didn't find his mate as well but ready to take over the Beta position. Not that a mate is required for that but, being another one of my best friends, he decided to take the position at the same time I become the Alpha and I appreciate it.

"How much more you gonna wait, babe?" asked Grace as she straddled my lap. We decided to announce officially as a couple but I didn't marked her yet because as I said, I wanna wait this year more.

You know, the feeling of your destined mate beside you is different. "Just let the high school finish, babe." I replied with a smile and she returned it.

"Grace, the principal needed to talk to you about some coming prom." said Liam as he crossed our table. As our school, The Grades High, is in the middle of the town, humans are also here. No other werewolf pack goes to this school but ours as it comes in our land. We allowed humans to avoid any suspicion and it also helped us adjust between them. Plus, it helped us find our mates if they are humans.

So as I said, it's a human school too, Grace is the Queen Bee of the school and she manages all the functions. I guess a prom is coming so she will be busy. "Coming." she said pecking me quickly and making her way out of the canteen.

"Dude, are you really going to mate with her? I mean, not that I have any problem but don't you think it's better to wait for your mate? If moon goddess made someone special for you, don't you think she deserves to be our Luna and certainly, she will make a better Luna." Levi asked yet another time.

He mostly ask this question whenever Grace is out of sight and every time he asks this in a different way. He has this talent though. I mean, how many times a person can ask the same thing in different ways?

"I know and that's why I am waiting one more year." I said in a 'duh' tone and he nodded.

Soon Grace returned and made her way to us. But in her way, a girl stumbled on her foot and spilled her juice all over Grace's olive skin. s**t! She is human and I have to go before Grace rips her apart.

"You b***h!" Grace shouted. "How dare you! Don't you have eyes?" she shouted as she shoved the other girl back. "I am sorry. It's a mistake." The girl apologized because as the Queen Bee, every girl fears Grace while most of the boys lure over her.

I put my hands on her waist to stop her from moving forward and said, "It's okay, babe. Leave her. It's an accident." Grace turned around and glared at me. If she was my real mate, then I would have released her by receiving this glare but as she is not, I don't fear her.

I mean, of course everyone fears their mate because no one wants to deal with a angry mate. An angry mate is dangerous. Specially when you are the boy because girls don't give in easily. They will make you regret your decision which made them angry.

"You, being my boyfriend, telling me to calm down then ripping this b***h's head?" Grace said narrowing her eyes at me. "It's not like that. I am saying that it was just a mistake." I said calmly.

Grace removed herself from between my arms and stormed out of the canteen. "I am really sorry for her behaviour." I said to the girl and she smiled at me sweetly before leaving.

I know, I am the Alpha and saying sorry to a random someone is not my nature but I can't tolerate the wrong. If it's your mistake, you have to say sorry no matter what position you holds. And that's one of the qualities my parents admire in me. And I love seeing them happy. Well, they are the another reason why I am waiting for high school to finish before I mark Grace.

They said that I should not give up this easily on my mate. They leave no chance of showing me what it feels like having your true mate by your side by showing affection for each other. Yes, they are their true mates and they love each other with their lives.

They said, if I marked Grace now and then find my mate, I will regret my decision. And I agree with them.

And not to mention or if you are wondering, I am not going after Grace. She has no right to shout in the first place. I mean, she had but still, she should have apologized after that. I know she will come around the next day because she knows that I can't tolerate the wrong. I wonder if my mate will be the same as her or she will be more kind.

I just hope I will find her this year.
