I nudged Adam. "Be polite."
The two people joining us today for lunch were Adam's mother and father. They had called me after the accident had occurred and they were really concerned about Adam. So I called them this morning and told them that Adam's back and he's fine. I also asked them if they'd want to meet Adam. They didn't think it was a good idea since Adam wasn't on good terms with them but I assured them that I will convince him.
Although, there was evident hostility between the three, I hoped they wouldn't cause a scene while we had lunch.
