Barbara had always been the voice of reason in her group of friends. She was the one who always had a level head and a sharp mind, and she was never afraid to speak her mind. So when she found out that her friends Maxwell and Avery were in a relationship, she was not in support of it.
At first, Barbara tried to keep her feelings to herself. She didn't want to ruin her friendship with Maxwell and Avery, and she didn't want to be seen as judgmental or controlling. But as the days went by, she couldn't help but feel more and more uneasy about the situation.
One day, Barbara and Maxwell were hanging out together, just the two of them, and she couldn't resist asking him about his relationship with Avery. "What's going on with you and Avery?" she asked, trying to keep her tone casual.
Maxwell sighed and rubbed his temples. "To be honest, Barbara, I don't know if this is going to work out," he said. "Avery is great, but we're just so different. We have different interests, different values, and we're just not on the same page when it comes to our lives."
Barbara listened to Maxwell's words, her heart heavy with concern. She had always thought of Maxwell as a kind and caring person, and she couldn't understand why he would be with someone who didn't appreciate him for who he was. "Maxwell, you deserve so much better than Avery," she said, trying to keep her feelings out of her voice. "You deserve someone who will love and appreciate you for who you are, not just for your money or your status."
Maxwell looked at Barbara, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Barbara," he said. "You always know how to make me feel better. But I think I need to figure this out on my own. I need to figure out if Avery is the right person for me, or if I need to move on."
Barbara nodded, feeling a sense of relief that Maxwell was finally opening up to her. She knew that she had done the right thing by speaking her mind, even if it was difficult. And she hoped that Maxwell would find the happiness and love that he deserved, no matter what that looked like.
