Chapter 7 Caitlin, Avery's step sister

2265 Words
Caitlin had always felt like an outsider in her own family. Her parents were always so focused on her brother, Maxwell, and his perfect relationship with his girlfriend, Avery. They were the golden couple, the ones everyone looked up to, and Caitlin just couldn't measure up. But as she watched them from the sidelines, she began to notice things that made her uneasy. The way Avery would always be by Maxwell's side, even when he was being rude to her. The way he would dismiss her opinions and make decisions without consulting her. The way they would whisper and laugh together, leaving Caitlin feeling left out. Despite her misgivings, Caitlin tried to be supportive of her brother and his relationship. She forced a smile on her face whenever they came over for family dinners, and she never said anything to Avery about her suspicions. But as time went on, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. One night, as she was helping her parents clean up after dinner, Caitlin overheard a conversation that made her blood run cold. Maxwell and Avery were in the living room, talking in hushed tones. Caitlin couldn't make out what they were saying, but she could tell by the tone of their voices that they were arguing. Maxwell invites Avery girlfriend to the apartment Maxwell was excited to show off his new apartment to his girlfriend, Avery. He had just moved in a few days ago and was eager to share the space with her. As she walked through the front door, he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked in the dim light of the entryway. Her long, curly hair cascaded down her back, and her bright smile lit up the room. "Hey, gorgeous," he said, taking her hand and leading her into the living room. "I hope you like it." Avery looked around the room, taking in the sleek modern furniture and the large windows that let in a flood of natural light. "It's amazing," she said, her voice filled with wonder. "I can't believe how much space you have." Maxwell grinned, feeling proud of his new home. "I know, right? It's bigger than my old place." As they explored the apartment, Maxwell couldn't help but feel grateful for Avery's presence in his life. She was the perfect partner, always supporting him and making him feel loved. He knew that he was lucky to have her by his side. Jasper and Taylor in a relationship Jasper was thrilled to be in a relationship with Taylor. They had met at a party a few months ago and had been inseparable ever since. Jasper had never felt this way about anyone before, and he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Taylor. At first, Jasper had been hesitant to accept Taylor's condition. But Taylor was kind and gentle, and he had won Jasper over with his charming personality and his love for the outdoors. Now, Jasper found himself falling more and more in love with Taylor every day. He loved the way Taylor's eyes sparkled in the moonlight and the way his furry ears perked up when he was excited. He even loved the way Taylor's body changed when he transformed, and the way he would curl up next to him at night, purring contentedly. But despite his love for Taylor, Jasper couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He had started to notice strange things happening around him, things that he couldn't explain. He would find strange markings on the ground, and hear strange noises in the night. And sometimes, he would catch glimpses of something moving out of the corner of his eye, something that looked like a large, furry creature. Jasper knew that he needed to talk to Taylor about what was going on, but he was afraid of what he might hear. He didn't know if he was ready to accept the truth about his boyfriend's condition, and he didn't know if their relationship could survive the revelation. But he knew that he couldn't keep living in the dark, pretending that everything was normal when it wasn't. He needed to face the truth, no matter how scary it might be. So he took a deep breath, and sat down with Taylor in their living room, his heart pounding in his chest. "Taylor," he said, his voice trembling. "There's something I need to tell you. Something I've been noticing, but I don't know how to say it." Taylor looked at him, his eyes filled with concern. "What is it, Jasper? You can tell me anything." Jasper took another deep breath, and he let the words spill out of him, hoping that he wasn't making a mistake. Taylor's expression changed, and he looked at Jasper with a mixture of surprise and sadness. "How did you know?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Jasper shook his head, feeling a lump form in his throat. "I've been noticing strange things, things that I can't explain. And I've seen you transform, Taylor. Taylor sighed, and he leaned his head in his hands. "I knew it was only a matter of time before you found out," he said. "I've been trying to hide it from you, but I can't keep lying to you anymore." Jasper felt a wave of fear wash over him, but he pushed it aside. He knew that he needed to be strong for Taylor, no matter what. "It's okay," he said, taking Taylor's hand in his own. "I love you, no matter what you are. I just want to know the truth, and I want to be there for you." Taylor looked up at him, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Jasper," he said. "I love you too. And I promise, I will always be honest with you, no matter what." Jasper smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He knew that he had made the right decision. Avery works as a bartender Avery had always been fascinated by the hustle and bustle of hotels. As a child, she would often sneak into her parents' hotel room and watch the guests come and go, imagining their stories and dreams. So, it was no surprise when she grew up and became a bartender in a luxurious hotel herself. She loved the fast-paced environment and the constant stream of new faces. Every night was a new adventure, a new chance to meet someone interesting and make their day a little bit brighter. And she was good at it too - she knew all the tricks of the trade, from the perfect pour to the art of listening. But one night, something strange happened. A wealthy businessman stumbled into the bar, looking disheveled and panicked. He ordered a whiskey on the rocks and slumped into a chair, muttering to himself. Avery couldn't help but notice the look of desperation in his eyes, and she felt a pang of curiosity. "Is everything okay?" she asked, pouring his drink with a practiced hand. The man looked up at her, startled, and then seemed to compose himself. "Oh, yes. Everything's fine," he said, but his voice was shaking. Avery couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She glanced around the bar, making sure no one was listening, and leaned in a little closer. "Listen, if you need to talk about something, I'm here to listen," she said, her voice low and gentle. The man looked at her gratefully and then began to speak. "I've lost something," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Something important. And I need to find it before it's too late." Avery's heart raced as she listened to the man's tale of lost love and forgotten dreams. She poured him another drink, her mind racing with possibilities. And as the night wore on, she found herself drawn into a world of secrets and lies, where nothing was as it seemed and the truth was hidden behind a veil of deception. Maxwell and Avery Maxwell sat on the couch, staring at his phone as it buzzed with an incoming message from his girlfriend, Avery. He took a deep breath before opening the chat. "Hey, babe," he read, "I know we haven't talked much lately, but I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing. I've been thinking about you a lot." Maxwell's heart skipped a beat as he read Avery's words. He had been feeling the same way but had been too afraid to say anything. He quickly typed out a response, his fingers trembling with excitement. "I've been thinking about you too," he wrote. "I've missed you so much. I know we haven't been together as much lately, but I can't help how I feel. I love you, Avery." There was a long pause before Avery responded. Maxwell's heart sank, thinking that she might be mad at him for not being more present in their relationship. But then, her message appeared on the screen. "I love you too, Maxwell," she wrote. "I've been so busy with work and school, but I've been thinking about us a lot. I want to see you soon. Can we plan a date for this weekend?" Maxwell's heart soared. He had been hoping she would say that. He quickly typed out a response, his fingers flying across the keyboard. "Absolutely," he wrote. "I've been dreaming about our next date for weeks. I'll pick you up at 7 pm on Saturday. Can't wait to see you, babe." Avery responded with a series of heart and smiley face emojis, and Maxwell couldn't help but smile. He had been worried that their relationship was falling apart, but it seemed that everything was going to be okay. He leaned back on the couch, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. The Date It was 7 p.m. Saturday and Avery. Maxwell has already arrived to pick Avery up. Avery walked towards his m. 'Do you mind if we visit the park'? he said as they drove off. 'Yes', which of them, 'Alexander Park'. Alexander Park was among the best parks in the city. They also have amusement parks that people can visit. Maxwell smiled as he gave Avery, a pat on the back, 'you will like the place', he said. Soon he arrived at the park, and people were walking in and walking out. Maxwell and Avery both walked into the documentation unit to document their presence. They have missed each other very much, and they are back together on a date. After the documentation, Maxwell and Avery sat down for a long discussion. 'Can you tell me a little about your past life?', but the past is gone, why do you want to know about it?', she said. 'Just a little', he responded. 'I have seen hard times', she said. 'I was born by well-to-do parents, who cared about the children. My mum died, and I had to live with only my dad. Apart from that, I had to take care of things. My mum's death was a great loss to me. She was a good mum and I learned good things from her. My dad was nice. Before coming to this city, I have been living with them. I must tell you, I regret the death of my mom. Things became hard after her death, and my dad too was finding things very difficult. I left for this city and started working in this bar before you saw me. I motivated myself with scriptural words and started working. I know something was missing, a good relationship with a guy before I met you, so tell me your own '. "I had parents too. Before I worked for my firm, I stayed with my parents. My parents were very rich so I attended the best schools in town and was already on insurance before leaving school. I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, but I am not a spoilt child. I wanted my success too, and I became the CEO of a very large firm. Something was missing too in my life like you said before I met you. I motivated myself when my company started because then it was not doing well. Before I got the boom, things were bad, to be honest with you, but I like to motivate myself. I wanted to love someone, I knew something was missing and there you are. Avery smiled a little bit. 'It seems we all had hard times, mine seems harder, your parents are still alive, but I have lost my mom. Maxwell now bent and started kissing Avery. It was a passionate kiss, and he closed his eyes, after some time Avery closed her eyes too, and the kiss went on without stopping. However, after some time, they saw they were before people in the park. People streamed in and streamed out. 'Motivation is useful, especially in hard times', Maxwell uttered. 'Yes' replied 'Avery, I learnt a lot living in the city. You have to keep pushing through hard times to overcome it. 'Yeah' replied Maxwell. They held hands together, as people passed by. Maxwell had many thoughts in his mind. Thoughts of settling down with her were coming. The thoughts were getting stronger. Avery too felt the same way. He kissed her again with closed eyes. It was a warm kiss. 'We have to leave the park now', said Maxwell. " yes we have to leave', replied Avery. They entered the vehicle and drove off.
