Adrian closed the study door softly behind him, unsure of what Leona really wanted. Evelyn had gone quiet since her visit. Something about the way Leona smiled at him… it unsettled him. He rubbed the back of his neck and walked toward the guest room where Leona waited.
Leona stood by the window, arms folded, her eyes watching the soft wind play with the trees outside. When she heard his steps, she turned with a faint smile.
“Still look like a king " she teased gently.
Adrian gave a small laugh. “Still trying to get used to it"
She walked to the armchair and sat down, her fingers brushing over the wood. “This castle suits you. Better than I ever imagined"
He stood by the bookshelf, unsure whether to sit. “Leona... you said you wanted a private moment?”
