Vera’s POV
I knew that Katherine was concerned about her. No matter how harsh her words were, she wouldn't mind.
"I'm a little tight on money right now, so I'm staying here for the time being. I'll move to a new neighborhood later, closer to you guys if possible."
I was telling the truth; this neighborhood was indeed too run-down. Just a few days ago, the water pipe burst in the middle of the night. It didn't look like a place where I could stay for long.
David looked at the furnishings in the house, and it was only a few days, but I managed to fill it up. It seemed like wherever I went, there was always a strange atmosphere.
"When are we going to eat? I haven't tasted Vera's cooking for a long time."
