The mansion felt unusually quiet. Elena had never noticed it before. Not really. She stood in the foyer long after Adrian and Damian had left staring at the closed front door. A whole week. It was only seven days. Yet somehow it felt much longer. She shook her head and laughed softly at herself. “When did I become like this?” Just a few months ago, she barely knew Adrian. Now she was already counting the days until he came home. The realization made her cheeks warm. Thankfully, there was nobody around to see it. Determined to distract herself, Elena headed upstairs. If she was going to survive the week, she needed to stay busy. Very busy. Her competition designs weren't going to finish themselves. As soon as she entered her office, she threw herself into work.
