The morning after their conversation felt different. Neither Adrian nor Elena mentioned what had happened the previous night, but something had changed between them. The distance was still there. Just… smaller.
Adrian woke up first as usual. Only this time, he didn't move. Elena was curled against his side, her head resting on his shoulder while one hand was lightly clutching his shirts. A small smile appeared on his face. His wife was really a Koala. The thought made him chuckle quietly.
Unfortunately, that tiny sound woke her up. Elena blinked sleepily. Then she realized where she was. And who she was practically hugging. Her eyes widened. Adrian laughed. A real laugh.
“Good morning.” Elena immediately sat up.
“Good morning.” Her cheeks turned pink.
