“What the hell happened to you?” I growled, grabbing her hand before she could yank it away. My eyes locked onto the bandage wrapped around her palm, and my jaw tightened, my blood boiling at the thought that someone had dared to hurt her. “Did they do this to you?” If those bastards were behind this, they had no idea the kind of curse they had just unleashed on themselves.
Her eyes flashed with anger as she pulled her hand free, trying to hide the pain that flickered across her face. “Drop the act,” she snapped. “You’re seriously starting to get on my nerves.”
